First and foremost, put my name on the Team Kids roster. Since sometime in the second season, I have been increasingly concerned about how the constant presence of cameras has affected the children. Unlike traditional child actors, there are no laws in place to protect the income of children in this situation, nor the amount of time or conditions under which they are filmed. One would hope that the parents would assure that the kids' needs and best interest would be served, but there's not much hope of that with these two maroons in charge. I think Jon genuinely loves the kids, and he's always interacted with them more and in a very relaxed, but still parental way, but he's been worn down by the degradation of being married to Kate. I've seen this type of relationship before; the husband allows the wife to dictate, but eventually it just gets to be too much and he finally digs in his heels and usually loses all feeling for the wife, just shuts down. In Jon's case, the constant barrage of posters on the internet urging him to 'grow a set' couldn't have helped matters.

And then there's Kate; she uses the excuse that she has OCD, but she really doesn't exhibit the symptoms (little rituals, repeating behaviours). Nope, I think she's just a controlling bitch, who has no view of the world except as it applies to her, as the center of the universe. While I was watching the show she rarely showed any real affection for any of the children, or interacted with them in a meaningful manner. She just seems to be a very cold person, and nothing will ever be good enough for her. If she wasn't having a meltdown about something totally stupid (omg, one of the children got ice cream on her dress! it's the end of the woooooorrrrllllddd!!), or barking orders from the depth of a chair, or complaining about how exhausted she was, then she was criticizing the kids or Jon. I've never understood how the fans could gush about what a wonderful mother she is, and it really worries me when people would excuse her coldness and controlling ways by saying, "oh, I would do the same thing."

Nothing is ever going to be good enough for Kate, and I fear for the future of the kids....they'll be forever attempting to make her happy, and it's just not gonna happen.
