It's actually not true that the kids received college tuitions. I mean I'm sure (well hopefully) that TLC money has been put aside for them and that
they'll be all set for college. But no organization or college "gave" the kids college tuitions. I remember that for sure because I was
surprised they hadn't received that with all the other things they received.

What I think has happened is that their marriage was over not long after returning from Hawaii. (No, I don't understand why they went ahead with buying the
McMansion, either...for her and the kids, I guess.) I don't know how long they've been living separately, but they tried to hide that fact for as long
as possible. Once Jon was caught partying back in February and the tabloids/fans interests were piqued, it was difficult to continue hiding it. Now, they (and
TLC) have had to face the music and bring things up to date show-wise.
They both want the gravy train to continue for a couple more years, and as far as Kate is concerned, this will all have to be pried from her cold, dead grip. As for tonight's "announcement"...have your tissues handy and watch another of Kate's attempt at an Emmy. |

The wedding vow renewal actually made me feel embarrased for them. They had no one there to watch except for a few very distant family members of Jon. Their
first dance was all sorts of awkward too.

Jon may want out of the show, but he certainly doesn't want "out" of the money the show brings in.
He can't be "just Jon" without the money he is used to having. He will also have a hell of a time being "just Jon" trying to make enough money to somehow support his family. |
