But if it is that hard to have a baby (living), why not adopt? There are plenty of babies out there that need homes.

Exactly, if you can't get pregnant, then don't have all of these medical aids and go out there and adopt some. There are tons of children out there and
you're here creating 6 for yourself.
But that's why this show is here in the first place. |

So many children and especially newborns put into foster homes. There must be a reason why people are put off at adoption here in the States. Is it the cost? |

Because a lot of the babies in the foster care system aren't available for adoption. The main goal of foster care is reunification with the birth parent/s.
Most people who want to adopt do so to build a forever family. Some people foster to adopt but there is always the emotional risk that the child they foster,
hoping to adopt ,will be reunified with their birth parents. Adoption isn't easy it especially if you want a healthy infant, if you go to a private agency
it can be an expensive and long process. All that said plenty of people take the risk and create amazing families through adoption.

It's not that easy to adopt. My cousin has adopted two, even opted to offer a home to a multi racial child or older child. It took quite awhile both
times. And it's expensive.

I can understand it taking awhile to screen prospective parents but it certainly shouldn't be expensive. Fertility treatments to my understanding are
ridiculous. Why should adopting a child cost so much? They need to rethink this and correct it. There have been so many abandoned children here in America.
Most of these kids live out their lives in foster care until they reach the age of 18. Then they are turned out to adjust on their own. It's not fair.
It's so frustrating to see all these loopholes and the ones who suffer are the kids.

In some states, including my own, fostering is an absolute nightmare involving power-mad bureaucrats who make bizarre decisions about placements of children with no rational basis. I have two adopted kids. I can say unequivocally that is it not easy to adopt at all, but it was worth it. My guys are perfect in every way. :) |

So here is a meager story to post. http://www.usmagazine.com/news/kate-gosselins-new-book-delayed-2009296 Kate Gosselin's New Book Delayed Monday June 29, 2009 ![]() David Livingston/Getty Images Much like her TLC show, Kate Gosselin's latest book is being postponed. One week after she and Jon Gosselin filed divorce papers, Christian publisher Zondervan is delaying the debut date of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star's upcoming cookbook, Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories. Originally slated to hit bookshelves in November, the book -- which originally promised on the back cover to be an "inside look at one of America's most famous close-knit families" -- will likely undergo some changes, the New York Post reports. The CEO of Zondervan, Maureen Girkins, said the publisher plans to "work with Kate to reassess the schedule for her next book." In addition to offering nutritious recipes and tips on eating organically, Love Is in the Mix planned to teach readers "how to craft family traditions that create happy memories" and "how to feed a large family on a budget." The book was also slated to include family photos and anecdotes about her twins and sextuplets. Gosselin is already the author of Multiple Bles8ings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets and the recently released Eight Little Faces, for which she traveled the nation this year to promote. Both titles were bestsellers. |

It's a good thing they released a statement to let us all know they wanted some privacy & didn't want to talk to the press....at least until the
show comes back in August. Otherwise I might have managed to forget about them with the actual news about Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays

Does anyone understand how it can be that Kate seems to be Caucasian and John seems to be half Chinese (or whatever the politically correct term is) but the
kids seem to be fully Chinese?
I mean if one parent is Caucasian and one parent is Chinese, then you'd expect the kids to be half Caucasian and half Chinese. But, in this case, wouldn't you expect the kids to be one-quarter Chinese? So, how did they get to be fully Chinese? Does anyone understand how that happened?

They are 3/4 white but they definitely do not appear it. Not saying that those aren't their kids but it's kind of funny how they don't look Caucasian at all. |
