Really now, why do people like to smoke? Aside from the whole death-as-a-side-effect thing, it tastes like...well, smoke! And that's fuckin nasty.
Plus, smoking doesn't make you look "cool," as many people like to claim. It makes you look like white trash. It doesn't make you feel relaxed. It makes you feel like you have emphysema. It has become such a taboo that in most places in America, it isn't socially acceptable to smoke, so the "peer pressure" effect is going the other way largely. And there are so many programs to help people end their addictions that I don't see how anyone can be addicted anymore. Kids get bombarded with information about the consequences of smoking and how people can get lung cancer and shit, so information isn't the issue.
And yet, people still smoke.
A lot of people.
Too many, in fact.
Why?
I don't know.
Somebody explain this to me.
