Cowell: "Season 7 is the best Top 12 ever!" |

Yada yada yada, every year they say it's the best 12 ever. It never will have the majic of the first few seasons and the AI ratings show it.

Blah, blah, blah. Whatev.

They don't even know who the damn top 12 are going to be. Unless they have 24 incredibly strong, charismatic performers in the final group, which I find
highly unlikely, they need to STFU.

They decided to rerun season 2 as season 7?

I have to admit, I'm sort of looking forward to it. After last season's disaster, though, this better be good.

I want to believe this, but like Seaguy said the Top 12 isn't even chosen yet. In reality there probably is a large amount of great contestants compared to
other seasons.
But I doubt the entire Top 12 is going to be amazing. Theres ALWAYS one or two I can't stand. |

This guy Jermaine Paul is the real deal. He sounds INCREDIBLE. I hope he makes the top 12.
If I was going to rank him among my favorite 5 AI male vocalists, it would look like this: 1. Elliott Yamin 2. Clay Aiken 3. Ruben Studdard 4. Jermaine Paul 5. Chris Daughtry Here's a video of him singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1hip7sP2QY |

Hyperbole aside, it's a great opportunity for the show.
The writers' strike is probably going to drag on for quite some time, and that means there won't be any new scripted shows airing in the new year. All eyes will be on American Idol. If they can put together a great group of contestants, they can make viewers forget the fiasco of season 6 and re-establish AI as the #1 show on TV (besides The Apprentice, of course). |

Yada yada yada, every year they say it's the best 12 ever. It never will have the majic of the first few seasons and the AI ratings show it. Actually I don't remember them saying that last year. (They were using words like "interesting" and "compelling" and hyping up their personalities) Which should have been an indicator of how craptastic it would end up being. |

I know that Randy ALWAYS says something like that, and so does Paula. But I don't think I've heard Simon rave this much before. Usually, he'll say
some good things and have negative comments as well, but this year even he seems happy about the talent. But after enduring last year, I'm sure everything
would seem amazing in this year's round of auditions.
Hopefully allowing them to play instruments in the auditions brought out a new crop of talent. |

That dude Jermaine Paul is already better than every single guy from Season 6. No joke. Change that to every single person from S6.

One thing they need to add to their mix is good looking, because they sure had a lack of that last year.
Anything the three of them would rave about would be the exact opposite of what I would be interested in. |
