How come I can't make my hair look like the hairdresser makes it look? |

So I go get my hair done and it looks great. Two days later, it's back to looking like crap. The stylist straightened my hair for me and she did it so
well the texture even felt different. So I spent close to an half hour trying to straighten my hair this morning and there's all these lumps in it and it
generally still has its curly texture. I did exactly what she showed me to do, same products and everything.

I avoid this problem by never getting my hair cut or styled.

If you could stand behind yourself, you'd have much better luck.

;) Quaff - my hair is a giant lions mane of crazy. Trying to tame it is just useless. So I see how long I can go before my mother makes me cut it. And yes, at
26, my mother can still force me to cut my hair.

Britney shaved her head so she wouln't have to spend time worrying about her hair....she could focus on more important things like being the best mother she could be... |

Talk to your hairdresser about it. If she's worth anything, she'll teach you how to do it and what tools to use.

I hate dealing with hair. I barely give it any effort these days. I would totally shave it off, if it was socially acceptable.

actually, for a beginner a 3 inch barrel rod is better than a flat iron.

Sticky Purple Punch wrote: I used a flat iron. That's what's so infuriating. I have to do it in three layers cause my hair is so thick. My hairdresser showed me how to do it and everything, but it still looks like crap. Maybe it's just practice. But I don't have a lot of patience for stuff like this, so most likely tomorrow I'll go back to my curly, but no hassle, hairstyle. |

No hassle is the way to go. Some days I don't even bother brushing my hair at all.

What kind of flat iron? Nothing wikll happen if you're using Conair crap. I have one that heats up to 450 degrees and it is the only one that has ever
worked on my hair.

I bought mine at the salon where I get my hair done. It was around $80, I think, but it has lasted me 5 years so far with regular use. I forget the brand.
