Why Can't Females Seem to Win?

The fans don't like it, but we all keep watching. Survivor is consistently a top 20 TV show after 10 years, despite being in one of the most competitive time-slots of the week. I don't think CBS has any complaints about this show's ratings. But back to the point of this thread, I don't think there is any conspiracy to keep women from winning the game, or that the game is somehow "unfair" to women. And heck, there is so much luck and coincidence involved in this game, I'm pretty sure you could play each game 20 times with the same 20 people and get 20 different results.

Or set the game up as Men vs Women again and see what happens...I mean if they wre to set the game up like that, for sure they have to cast stronger females and gear the challenges that would allow mena nd women to win equally.

China's female cast wasn't bad either and actually, China was the last season where they merged with even genders! Five men (Frosti, James, Eric, Todd, Jon Robert) and Five women (Jamie, Peih Gee, Denise, Courtney, Amanda).

It got a hundred times better after the switch though. Leann started running the show, Ami turned into a mega bitch, Bubba miserably failed at subtlety and Royry the grown-ass man found his crack and threatened to burn down the shelter. And on top of that, you still had Scout vs. Eliza. Yasur was definitely a fun tribe to watch, even though I was rooting for the Lopevis. GrenadeJumper85 wrote: I agree. But you see, this is probably because of the 16 people cast, which is one of the many, many reasons why 16 is much better than 18 or 20. With 16 people, they know the pre-merge won't last long so they take more chances. With 20 people, they're way too scared to go after one their alpha-males so women boot themselves instead. Nobody wants to be the next Ulong.

Female tribe won 4 of 6 challenges prior to tribal switches. Sarge admitted after season that alligning with older, less fit was stupid strategy, he needed to align with those who would help win challenges to have long-term chance in game. Did you watch Micronesia? Women outsmarted men to eliminate 2 guys with immunity idol and followed that up by getting another guy to surrender immunity. Women made men look like fools. "With 20 people, they're way too scared to go after one their alpha-males so women boot themselves instead. Nobody wants to be the next Ulong." Isn't just Ulong. Ogakor (AUS), Chuay Gahn (Thailand), Drake (PI), Mogo Mogo (ASS), Yaxha (Guat), Ravu (Fiji), Fang (Gabon) all kept less physically able tribe members and tribe challenge performance got worse. In other cases [Casaya (EI), both Aitutaki and Rarotonga (CI), Moto (Fiji), Timbira (Tocantins] tribes continued to do well in spite of eliminating one or more physically able male or female instead of less physical tribemates. For Aitutaki, Moto and Timbira a more physical women was voted out, and Casaya, Rarotonga and Timbira had other capable men that allowed them to continue to remain competitive. I don't think the game makes it harder for women to win but history and the physical nature of the team portion of the game makes voting out women and weaker men a good strategy in the early part of the game.

The early challenges in those seasons were intentionally made so that the women would have a chance, because it's always good fro some drama when a tribe on cocky men loses to a group of women. I think most seasons that aren't split on gender lines, if you look at the challenges from the first 4 or 5 episodes, a tribe of all women would probably lose 90% of them, at least.

Sally and Cirie-yes Tina-impossible to tell due to the tragedy she had to endure just before going on the show Misty-was smart but already resorted to the "let's pretend we're helpless" strategy that seems to have become "expected" of women Danielle, Courtney, Ruth Marie (seriously?), and Melinda (WTF?): all completely useless
