39. Neleh Dennis (Survivor Marquesas) I know a lot of people think Neleh is fake, but I think she's genuinely a very nice person, which I like. She had a big heart and cared about everyone, which is probably why it was so hard for her to play the game and betray etc. Early on, the scenes with her and Paschal were very Rodger/Elisabeth esque, which was a good thing. After the switch, she became part of a team that still to this day is one of my favourite tribes in survivor history. She welcomed Gina with open arms, and NuMaraamu got along swimmingly (once Sarah left that is). It sucked that she and Paschal voted out Gina, but once the merge hit, she and Paschal started frustrating me a bit in that they completely gave a big FU to Kathy by shutting down her stories about the Rotu4. In the next ep, it was nice to see Neleh try to warn Kathy as a friend that if she kept opening her mouth, not because she was right, but because I think she was genuinely looking out for Kathy. But after the immunity challenge, I liked to see Neleh take the charge to switch alliances. After that, Sean especially, and Vee really got down her throat, which I didn't really see why; she was trying to make everyone happy, and even though the after dinner delectable mint was a bad idea, it was well intentioned, and nowadays, castaways have done things on that level, such as eating licked chicken bones etc. She was absolutely right about how Sean and Vee denied any alliance they had, and when Paschal left, I saw fight in her that I liked. Too bad she sucked at the final TC and couldn't pull out the win. 
38. Sandra Diaz-Twine (Survivor Pearl Islands) Shock! PI is the first season out. I loved Sandra the first time around, but I wasn't at all rooting for her, cuz I was on the Morgan bandwagon, so that's probably one of the reasons I can't appreciate her enough to put her higher, but I still adore Sandra. Upon rewatch, I realized she was my fave. Her loud and obnoxious attitude was fun to watch, especially with her amazing confessionals. She let it be known how she was feeling, and SHE COULD GET LOUD TO!!!!! <333 The scene where she puts the smack-down on JFP was amazing. She had a fun laugh and wouldn't hold back at all. Watching her in the
water was absolutely hysterical. Watching her flub around trying to stay above the water was amazing. Even though throwing away fish and hiding camp
supplies was childish, it was still kind of funny. And to see her take out JFP after hearing his grandmom died was priceless. Watching her scramble to
save herself after Rupert's vote was great, because she proved she could stand on her own two feet. Still don't see why people call her a coat-tail
rider. She had a great strategy; anyone but me. She worked the vote the way she wanted to, but if it didn't fall into place, she knew people would come to
her for a vote and she'd be okay. The reason I don't want to put her higher is because her temper was sometimes terrible, like when she apparently tore
Lill apart and kicked sand in her face. 
37. Cindy Hall (Survivor Guatemala) If Steph weren't on Guatemala, Cindy would have probably been my favourite from the get-go. She loves animals, as do I, and she seemed to be a big fan of the show, as am I. She cherished every moment out there, and was so sad to leave such a harsh environment. She started off on Nakum, the team I was rooting against, but she still was likable. She knew better than to dip into a pool of crocodiles as well. After the swap, she was screwed because of Judd, but she made the best of it, cut her losses, and snuck right into the Nakum alliance. She went from 6th, to 4th at least, which was great. But of course, things fell apart when Rafe became stupid. But Cindy was very enthusiastic, she had heart, and she never gave up. She was screwed by bitchy Rafe because she took the car that she won. It was nice to see her so excited about it. I just loved Cindy, even though most consider her somewhat boring, I don't think she was. 
36. Julie Berry (Survivor Vanuatu) <333 Julie. She started off really UTR, so I was meh on her. But I did like her in episode 2 where she tried to get Dolly to pick a side. Also, I LOLed when Twila and Mia got into a huge bitchfight, yet if you watch the whole scene it was clearly Julie who instigated the whole thing. She's a very
underrated player, IMO. Once the swap hit, she knew she was in trouble, and so she had to use two strategies. Instigating and flirting. She did it really well.
Julie's one of the best weasels survivor's ever seen. She's always in a piss poor position yet manages to wiggle her way to safety every time.
First, instigating the Mia/Twila fight, guaranteeing she would be safe for at least 1 TC. Then, flirting with the guys and instigating thoughts into
Twila's head about the boys' allegiance, causing her to be loyal to Julie. Then post-merge, she'd been away from the power players, Ami and Leann,
for a good 12 days I think, and before she left, she was in a bad position with the girls, yet within 6 days finagled her way into a 4th spot, at the least.
She's not higher because she was UTR, but she still cracks the top 13% for her fun personality and great gameplay.
35. Leslie Nease (Survivor China) Leslie was a fairly early boot, but she has one of the best hearts of any castaway, which is why she cracks the top 35. She was a great, refreshing character after a stale two seasons. Immediately, she let her faith guide her into doing what she thought was right by leaving the temple. Now, I'm not Christian, but I do think faith is very important, and so even though we're different religions, I loved to see her follow her values like that. I know I probably would have at least wanted to do the same thing, so kudos to her for doing it. After getting on Fei Long, she took to James, who was shy and gave him a pep talk. It was sweet to see her do that, it shows how much she cared. I was hoping the two of them would align. It was also nice to see her enjoy her time on Zhan Hu because she had been having a rough time on Fei Long. The best part of Leslie, aside from her huge heart, was definitely her bizarre friendship/alliance with Courtney. That totally came out of left field. I thought Courtney would hate her. But it was very endearing to watch, and I was hoping the two of them would do very well, but unfortunately Leslie talked a bit too much about how she enjoyed ZH and was seen as a loose cannon. She was a huge
fan of the show, so it was disappointing to see her go so early, but she is a great candidate for a second chance if there ever is one.

YAYAYAYAY!! For Pearl Islands to be the first season extinct. Its one of two survivor seasons I dont appreciate.
I just bought the Vanuatu dvd this week and listened to the commentaries and I was in shock. I havent seen Vanuatu since it aired and I remember Julie being quiet and a non entity, but that commentary she did had so much personality I was in t.ears. |

Ugh, Sandra out before Julie and Leslie? I don't think I'll ever like another winner as much as I liked Sandra. And she's the only person who was
my favourite from the first episode who went on to win. Sadly, the way the game has changed now with the idols and the general favouritism towards men, I
can't imagine there ever being another winner like her again - the closest we've come since is Courtney coming so close to winning China.

<3 Just because PI and Guat went extinct first, doesn't mean I didn't like Sandra/Cindy a lot. #38 etc is amazing. Especially since I'd probably
rate everyone in the top 100ish a 10 on a scale of 0-10. <3
Julie may even have placed higher, from the new developments that she had a lot of personality on the Vanuatu commentary tracks, but I've yet to hear them cuz I don't have the DVD, but we shall see when that time comes (not for a while at least). |

34. Jonathan Penner (Survivor Micronesia ~ Fans vs. Favourites) I came into S16 liking Jonathan. He was a colourful character, and I couldn't wait to see him in action, hoping he'd stir things up. He wasn't my fave by any means, but he was someone I was looking forward to see playing. Unfortunately, when I heard he was at a different place in his life, he had a different strategy to lay low etc., I was worried he wouldn't deliver. But he did. In episode 1, he formed an alliance with 3 other of my faves. I was hoping he would pull Cirie in and that would be been the best.alliance.ever. Unfortunately, he kept pushing for Fairplay, and I still scratch my head at that one. Fairplay over Cirie??? Fairplay over anyone??? But regardless, he was a likable character in ep 1, with the Boston Redsox quote, and the "Fairplay's going home" TCQ response. Episode 2, I thought great, he's pulled in Cirie. <3 Amazing. In episode 3, my like for him wavered a lot. I was under the impression that he screwed over Yau/Ami/Eliza by talking down to Cirie (which wasn't the case, Yau screwed up), and the way he handled Cirie was 100% wrong. I still can't believe Ami didn't try to work her magic. After that, the switch came, and I really liked him again. Seeing him get hurt sucked, and he had so much heart and drive. His leg injury completely changed the outcome of the season, 150%. No doubt in my mind, the showmance alliance would have crumbled if Jonathan had stayed. But he was taken out in a shitty way, and it was heartbreaking to watch. But he provided a lot of
insight post show and had a great love for the game. Can't ask for more than that.
33. Austin Carty (Survivor Panama Exile Island) Originally, I really didn't like Austin. I thought he'd be the typical mactor, being that his achievements were minor books and One Tree Hill. However, within 2 episodes, my views on him changed. He seemed like a genuine guy, and I found myself rooting for him. In episode 2, he came to La Mina and was immediately pulled one way by Terry/Dan and another way by Misty/Sally. I was really hoping he'd go with Misty and Sally. The thing that bothered me was at the third TC, he voted for Misty over RM. WTF?? He could have kept both alliances in tact, made the tribe stronger, and been in a better position. But it was hard to keep hating him, being that his one liners were great, and it helped that the next episode, he pulled really hard for Sally to stay, and it worked. <3 That put a smile on my face. His Terry mancrush was a bit much, but still. I was a pretty big La Mina fan, so I was hoping he'd get the numbers, and hopefully after the merge, Sally could align with him on a deeper level. Seeing the recap episode, the scene with him and Sally was touching... he was understanding and kind, and it was nice she felt comfortable opening up to him. He even wanted to base novel around her. I always thought they'd have made a great couple. After the merge, he fought really hard to stay, which was nice. The whole faking being bad at the IC was brilliant, especially for someone who I don't think saw the show before. Too bad he opened his big mouth at TC. But he fought hard, unfortunately, it wasn't enough.
32. Rudy Boesch (Survivor Borneo) Originally, I hated Rudy. I thought he was a sour jackass curmudgeon. I hated the Tagi 4 a lot. But after seeing All Stars, I loved Rudy, and after that, when I re-watched the season, I wondered how the hell I could have ever hated him! He made me laugh at least once every episode. While I do think he did some bad things like opening up food when he shouldn't have, he was real. He was raw. He was funny. Seeing his discomfort around the merge sex talk was hilarious. And then the comments he made, like "if they'd all listen to me they'd all have haircuts". WTF??? He had a great sense of
humour and when it came out, it was unexpected and side splitting. He reminds me a lot of my Grandfather. <3 Another one of his confessional gems:
"Those 3 girls walking around, I don't know what's up with that. I thought about lesbianism but I don't think they're smart enough for
that." Or "I never want to see these people again" right in front of everyone. And at final TC, one of the best speeches
ever... "I don't have anything to say, I just wanted to let everyone know the dumb mistake I made yesterday that cost me a million bucks."
Rudy was amazing. <3
31. Stephenie LaGrossa (Survivor Palau) This is probably a huge shocker. I thought Steph was amazing, utterly amazing in Palau. Honestly, if it weren't for Guatemala, she'd easily be top 5. Except my view of her was tainted a bit, but still, she rocked Palau. She started off on a bad foot, by jumping off the boat, but it was still fun to watch. She was tough as nails, and even though Ulong kept losing and losing and losing, she always fought so hard and kicked so much ass in every challenge it seemed like... I can't believe Ulong lost as much as they did, because individually, several of them (especially Steph, but also BJ and Angie) performed so well, just collectively they couldn't do it. But she was the ultimate underdog, and I found myself rooting for her very hard. When it got down to her and BJ, watching her cry was very sad, but she persevered and beat the person who taught her how to make fire. Then it was weird, cuz she was the first person to ever camp on Survivor alone, and so watching her be so emotional over getting to go to Koror was nice. Then when she got there, she was beaming, but people were after her. Unfortunately she didn't use the info Coby gave her like she should have (ie rat Jenn and Gregg out or threaten to rat them out), and she was promptly voted out, but not before she had a hand in getting Janu to quit.
30. Lindsey Richter (Survivor Africa) It's probably questionable to have Lindsey in the top 30, but I loved her. From the first episode, her rawness and hilarity of her confessionals made me a fan. And unlike many other young girls on survivor, she was a very typical girl, not some LA mactress. Lindsey was very emotional, and it brought some amazing TV entertainment. "The water is this deep... so err you get water MIXED WITH KRUD!!!!". "I got me a tick on my ass!". Funny stuff. <3 Lindsey was the most perceptive as to the stuff that was going on with the older members, so she went and listened, and got Silas to flip. Shows she's a great player. She didn't know what she was getting into strategy wise (even though I know she probably saw the show?), and it took a toll on her. She was personally offended, but it was fun to watch. The whole necklace fiasco was hysterical. Then when she overexerted herself, I felt bad for her, cuz she
really gave 200% to every challenge she competed in. My favourite moment of the season, bar none, was when she beat the ever so smart Carl in a TRIVIA/SURVIVAL
tie-breaker. It made me so happy, I was convinced she was a goner. When she got back from camp, she was hurt and she lashed out. Not smart, but fun to watch.
Then the whole "real hug" thing.. Great stuff. After the swap, she was a basket case, but I felt for her. She wanted to stay so badly,
but knew if they voted for her, she was done. She talked way too much about it, and finally Kelly overheard. But her struggle to decide whether to vote off
Brandon is what brings her this high. She was truly torn up about it, and even though backstabbing is okay by me in survivor, back then especially, there was
way more to it than that. Friendship did matter, and the TC where she left was one of the most emotional ever. Even I felt really bad. But to see her stand up
for her friendship and declare she couldn't vote out Brandon was nice to see, and for someone who had been going manic over the thought of being voted out,
she sure took it well... "guys it's a game!!! Don't worry, it's me!". I always liked the "how many votes do you have?"
"a couple!" "4?" "maybe *laughs*" interaction. Great goodbye, too bad Brandon was a bitch in the next episode.

29. Jake Billingsley (Survivor Thailand) Jake was amazing. <3 He started off as the captain of Sook Jai, and after his picks were made, they were easily my favourite team. I thought they had it in the bag. Jake picked a bunch of people who did have what it took, except maybe maturity, because they started off great, with Jake as their leader, and ended up imploding. But right off the bat, Jake was the peacemaker, which is what I try to do IRL. He saw the conflict between Robb and Shii-Ann, and tried to fix it and kindly let Robb know he was wrong. When everyone was ragging on Shii-Ann, I loved when he said he didn't understand the hate and that she was a hard working wonderful person. <3 We know Ken/Penny/Erin/Shii-Ann respected him a great deal, so I think his mistake was definitely allowing them to throw IC #3. That spelled the end for SJ, no doubt. Not only did they lose their momentum and give it to the tribe that needed it so badly, but they got rid of one of the strongest challenge competitors in survivor history, IMO. After that, they won two challenges, but it just let CG get rid of their cancer, and SJ continued to fight even more. It was sad to see them fall apart, losing all 7 members left in back to back to back episodes. But Jake was a fighter. He never gave up,
and he always tried to fight hard for SJ. Seeing how far he went to win that snorkel challenge was amazing. Too bad he barely lost it. But he outlasted his
whole young tribe. Then he provided a fairly hilarious comment... *Awkward pause* Jake: It's almost... erotic. *another awkward pause* WTF? After the
merge, Jake gave it his all, and I liked when he called out CG on their work hard bullshit. At final tribal, he called out Clay which was good to.
28. Kathy Sleckman (Survivor Micronesia ~ Fans vs. Favourites) I <333 Krazy Kathy. She was one of the most refreshing characters to survivor in a long while (especially compared to CI, Fiji, Palau, and Guatemala). She was the average american, a great addition to the cast. In episode 1, she had me laughing so hard, with all her crazy antics. The way she asked Chet about his gayness and Tracy about her boobs... Who does that? But it's one of her best qualities... honesty in the most innocent manner. My mom is the
same way. She'll say things that could be taken very rudely, but she says it with a genuine smile on her face and with a genuine care for the person that
it's not taken as rude in the least. Her little dance in her confessional about getting the HII was awesome, and to see such a big fan on the show was
great, especially when there was the likes of Alexis etc who never watched the show aside from what the producers showed them. <_< Her giddiness over Yau
and Cirie was awesome. On exile, she bonded with my favourite castaway and to see them looking for the idol together was love. <3 I was hoping they'd
find it. Then she comes back and the whole interaction with Joel about the vote was amazing. "WHO???". Probably the most
unintentionally funny contestant aside from Rudy. I was really hoping she'd do well, but I knew about the whole finger spoiler so I was happy she lasted 7
episodes... the spoiler made it sound like she'd be out within 3-4, so we got 3-4 extra episodes of KB. <3 Watching her want to quit was one of the
saddest parts of the season. She really wanted to go, and I felt bad for her, she mentally broke, which is sad because she was such a fan of the show and
I'm sure she wanted to stay out there more than anyone. Another reason Jonathan leaving impacted the season. I'm sure we'd have seen her go very
far had she stayed, being that she was in a power position of sorts, being in the middle of shit. Once the season ended, she provided a helluva lot of
hilarious moments on Sucks. Gives so much insight, cracks me up, isn't afraid to speak her mind or trash other contestants/sucksters. Amazing. <3
27. Christy Smith (Survivor Amazon) Christy is bar none one of the most inspiring contestants to ever grace the show. She was my pre-show fave, and she definitely delivered. She was the contestant that probable invoked the most sadness and joy in me throughout the season. Episode 1 was absolutely heartbreaking. To see her struggle so much and cry about her struggles was horrible. I felt really bad for her. And then when everyone just went off into the jungle without trying to explain to her what
was happening was awful. In episode 2, I once again felt bad for her, because she had a very strong work ethic, and maybe she went about expressing her ideas
to the tribe in the wrong way, but she was getting nothing from some of those people. And to see Joanna put her hand in her face, her only line of
communication, was absolutely despicable. I loved that Janet consoled her. At tribal council, I was very happy Christy was able to open up and express her
emotions about her place in the tribe about how she felt excluded. <3 After that, it was wonderful to see her attitude take a 180 and she realized she
couldn't change others, only herself, and she had a positive attitude and she was thriving. After the swap, it was so heartwarming to see her feel very
welcomed into New Tambaqui, and to realize the special person she was. Watching her kick Jenna's ass in the log roll challenge was awesome, because she
didn't think she could beat the young athletic girl, but she did and she was the key factor in winning for her team. <3 After the merge, she kind of
latched onto Deena I think, but she was UTR. Though she did provide the "Matt is cweepy" line. After Deena left, seeing her bitch about the
lazies was awesome. The confessional about Alex drooling over Jenna and Heidi = the best confessional of the season. The face she made was amazing. After
that, she waffled and got voted out, and I was so sad over that. I thought she was in the final 4 per ChillOne, so that was a horrible episode. Watching
her call out Jenna on the handicap comment and then vote for her because she appreciated the game she played was nice to see. Hearing her progress at the
reunion was great to. Sure, she had a chip on her shoulder for sure (part of why she's lower), but can you blame her? She must have had a hard time with
girls like Jenna/Heidi, that she clearly wasn't over.
26. Teresa Cooper (Survivor Africa) Teresa was the sweet older lady with a very kind heart. One of the kindest survivors ever, for sure. But she also had amazing drive, that I'll always love. She started out on the alliance I hated, but Teresa was the only one I liked. She wasn't ruthless at all about it, and she still treated the youngins with kindness, like how she told Lindsey what was going on. After the swap, I was upset how quickly she abandoned Samburu, but I could understand. Though it was kind of frustrating that she and Frank couldn't really look 9 days ahead and realize the pickle they'd be in. Anyway, she was still sweet. After the merge, watching her hang in for 6 hours with Clarance was amazing. I was in awe. She almost saved Samburu, inadvertently when she voted for Lex, and provided great drama for the season. Then she and Kim P. staged what could have been the best power shift in the history of survivor, but Brandon fucked up and then they all dropped the ball. But her fight and will to stay in was awesome. She was always trying to sway someone, and when it fell through at 7 (stupid Kim
J.), seeing her follow Frank's wishes in voting for him was sad because she was torn up about it. Then at 6, she still fought to get the girls together,
and it should and would have worked, but once again, stupid Kim J. She realized she needed to vote with Teresa at 5.. but a bit too late, huh? :rolleyes:
Teresa gave every effort to stay, which I loved. She was one of survivor's best people as well, which is why she places so high. <3
