Ken/Gerard <3 They're one of the only teams that was consistently entertaining without relying on big moments (compared to a team like Colin/Christie
who were incredible TV some of the time but were fairly dull a lot of the time too).

Ken/Gerard's "ABORT ABORT ABORT" has got to be one of the funniest things I watched on TAR3.

Your #4 is weird and your #3 should be #2 or #1. I admit Romber was pretty fun to watch tho :)

Regarding Ken & Gerard, Ken telling Flo to keep talking on the phone call home in Switzerland. Don't know why, but that always sticks out in my mind. |

This is the single greatest list ever... well so I thought until I saw Ray & Yolanda.

chapera rocks wrote: Wait, whaaaat? I just figured you must have always hated them - how do you fall out of love with the awesomeness that is Charla and Mirna? They are like a fine wine that grows better, crazier and more quotable with age. OK I sort of lost the wine analogy there, but I'm just baffled that anyone could stop liking them. Anyway, your prediction was right - you totally lost me with #1. But you already know I hate Romber, so I'll move on. Except to say that nothing makes me happier than watching Mirna own Rob at his final Roadblock like the little bitch he was. I'm not crazy about #2 either, though at least they would have made for a less sucky All-Stars ending. Apart from that though, I loved Chillie, the Bowling Mums (I refuse to Americanise that with an 'o'), Ken/Gerard &.. Ron/Chris. |

Ron/Chris ending was tragic.
Re: Chmirna... I loved them in TAR5 and I just assumed that it was an unlucky situation that everyone hated them, and that it just was a cluiquish season. Then in All Stars, Mirna was a raving bitch by episode 2, was mean to the BQ's, and admittedly, part of the reason I hated them was because they were obnoxious to my faves, BUT that was hardly the only reason. Kevin/Drew, David/Mary, Guidos and pretty much everyone but the Chas clashed with them. I came to an epiphany: It was Mirnacunt, not everyone else. She is GREAT TV, but I just found her unbearable, to the point where it wasn't even entertaining, just enraging. Oh, and when I said Friday, I meant this friday, hehe.

I don't remember Mirna directly clashing with David/Mary. In fact, on the first leg, didn't Mirna tell both of them that they're going to finish
this race together (or finish the race to the end?).
Then on Episode 2, Schmirna innocently passed over them on the highway to the detour (or pitstop?) and this bothered Mary. Mary was still in "Season 10's Six Pack Together Forever Alliance" mode but doesn't get the fact that it's a race. Mirna wasn't even aware that she pissed her off. Aside from Ozzy/Danny, Mirna didn't clash with Uchenna/Joyce and JVJ. I find it incredibly hilarious and ironic that the Chas, of all teams, were their best buddies. |

I think there were some post-elimination interviews with Uchenna/Joyce where they were putting C/M down, which seems fairly typical of them - to act like
they're morally superior in interviews but never say a word to anyone's face. That's what really struck me in the Romber elimination ep - they
laugh when Romber tells them they lied to C/M but then act holier than thou in their confessionals. That's what I loved so much about C/M actually
confronting them, and talking back to Rob, after watching so many people in TAR7 bitching behind his back but never showing any guts in person.
Anyway, I see where you're coming from, because my C/M love wavered slightly when Mirna had that pretty unprovoked meltdown in ep 2 (though in retrospect, knowing they're not going to be eliminated, I find it hilarious now). But all the other disagreements they had with other teams I could totally understand - David/Mary were simpletons with no racing skill who couldn't handle a competition they weren't being carried through; Teri/Ian are a couple of self-deluded twats who think everyone should bow down and worship at their old, crusty feet; Romber goes without explanation and the BQs clashed with everyone in the final four because of their competitiveness. And the fact that C/M ended up building a friendship with my other favourite All Star team, Oswald/Danny, redeemed them even further in my eyes. But I can't continue down this train of thought any longer, lest it bring up finale flashbacks. *shudder* |

Eric/Danielle got on pretty well with Mirna - certainly more than they did with the Chas and the BQs
after watching so many people in TAR7 bitching behind his back but never showing any guts in person.Pretty much everyone bitched to his face at the bus station in Episode 2 but unsurprisingly he was unwilling to own up to anything |

Maybe so, but was Rob really that terrible to them? I don't think so; sure, he made a comment about Meredith possibly pushing Gretchen in, but he meant it
as a joke. They even gave M/G clothes after they were mugged. It was Meredith and Gretchen who bitched about how Rob/Amber just got lucky in London behind
their backs, implying that they had no racing skills... like they're the people to talk.
Next Two...
9. Adam & Rebecca I do enjoy a good trainwreck team, and that summed up Adam/Rebecca. They were the bickering, odd couple that you couldn't help but root for. It helps that they yielded Freddy and racist twat as well. Honestly, they'd be top 5 if Rebecca wasn't such a slut ho who loves Jonathan after the show, but they're this high because I try to block that out, and they were just so awesome on the race. Adam was pretty pathetic, but endearing in a weird way... and his meltdown in Norway, threatening to jump on the tracks was pretty funny. Rebecca was more like his mom than his GF, but she was pretty tough; she carried the team, was smart, savvy, athletic and funny. And I loved when they finally pulled it together enough to pull out a first place finish, even though Adam managed to screw up a fairly simple FF option. Race Highlight: Them coming in first is tempting, but it has to go to that epic moment at the roadblock in China where it was Hayden vs. Rebecca. one of my all time fave reality moments. The fact that both were struggling, bleeding, and cursing for 7 hours is amazing that they could pull through. And the fact that Rebecca found the key literally at 7 PM, the closing time, is pretty dramatic and awesome.
10. Frank & Margarita The first time I watched TAR1, which was when Panama Exile Island was airing, I absolutely loathed these two. Well, Frank mostly. He was loud, obnoxious and extremely abrasive. But the second time I watched it, they really grew on me. They did care about each other, and despite being separated they tried to make it work. Their antics made me laugh and I remember they pretty much had conspiracy theories about the other teams which is why they did their own thing instead of the cliquish alliances towards the end. I liked that they really didn't trust the Lawyers, but the last time I watched it was a long time ago,so I don't remember too much more, but I remember loving them. Frank was funny, Marg was sweet, and it's a shame they didn't work things out for good. It sucked to see them lose, especially since they thought they won. Race Highlight: Help me out! Name some, people, cuz I can't really remember TAR1. |

Adam and Rebecca were hilarious in a trainwreck sort of way. They were a unique team because it's the first time that a female racer in a co-ed team was
carrying the incompetent male partner.
Frank and Margarita was also another great team. They were the first to get a really complex character edit (the second being Teri and Ian). I like the fact that they were not a bickering couple as one would normally expect. Frank acted like an ass to Margarita on the first couple of legs but looking back, he was just pumping her up. If they were on a Post-Season 6 season, people would start accusing Frank as the new Jonathug when in reality, he isn't. We need more teams like them. I would've loved to see both of them on All-Stars. I wonder why they broke up. They seemed to be together post-race. |

Never cared for Adam and Rebecca; I didn't watch TAR6 until after all the mediawhoredom but as entertaining as the dynamic was I just wasn't as crazy
about Rebecca as everyone else seemed to be. But besides Lori/Bolo and Don/MJ, they're easily the best couple of the season (which says a lot about TAR6
casting).
Frank/Margarita are one of my all-time favorites. They had a complex relationship, but unlike a lot of the bickering couples, there were plenty of moments that answered the question, "Why are they even together?" After Ken/Gerard and Colin/Christie, they were my #1 'wish they were on All-Stars' team (although C/C obviously had an excuse for not being included). Even though I like Tara/Wil more, they were never in a struggling relationship when the show was filming because they'd already broken up, but F/M were really trying to work it out. It's a shame they couldn't do it. Oh yeah, a great F/M moment--her in that rat temple is the first thing I think of with them, but as depressing as it is, I think their most memorable team moment is at the very end, the excitement on their faces when Rob/Brennan don't step onto their train and they're convinced that they have the win. |

<3 Adam/Rebecca. They were more suited as friends only. I loved it when Kendra (?) badgered her, Rebecca simply said, "So many questions..."

Oh, Gus/Hera are totally my TAR6 favorite, and easily one of my top 10 teams ever. But I was only talking about couples from the season (which there were way
too many of).

The look on his face, along with the relentless stream of shit-talk that leg which suddenly stopped, convinced me that he knew. It was definitely sad, though. It made me feel sorry for them even though I was starting to hate them a little bit for their unabashed cockiness during that leg. Other good Frank & Marg moments: Frank's rage fit and scream when he learned that Team Guido beat them to the connection in South Africa, the original "it's on like Donkey Kong," winning the best Fast Forward ever, and checking under the car for an eavesdropping Joe & Bill. |
