11. Kami & Karli

Oh God, these two were so hilarious because they were so clueless. I mean, they were literally lost almost everywhere they went. Egypt especially comes to mind. They were always very speedy, but somehow managed to come in the back of the pack. They bickered, but had their sweet moments like when Kami took care of Karli after she downed the 2 pounds of caviar. They were the rootable underdogs; they came in last or second last countless times, but one stand out moment was when they actually placed in the top 3 in Luxor, Egypt. I was happy for them. <3 One of the funniest bickering sessions was in India at the mud brick roadblock. "Watch him, Karli!" *Repeats* "I AM WATCHING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!" "You know I could do that a lot better than you so hush!" Plus, they got along best with the bowling moms. <3 Their elimination sucked, and it sucked even more that the bowling moms left right after.

Race Highlight: Mud brick meltdown, no question.








12. Lena & Kristy

I know a lot of people think these two are overrated, but they were sweet, smart, fun and fairly good at the race, a few blunders aside. After they placed high in the first leg, everyone thought they could potentially be the first F/F team to win TAR. Then in leg 2 they did fairly well again ... until they accidently took the wrong turn, and narrowly beat out the New York friends to the pitstop. Then their reaction to Jonathan/Victoria at the Viking Village still makes me laugh. In leg 3, they had a decent lead over most teams, after they were the first to effectively complete the counting detour (which provided some hilarious moments with the wrestlers and the old couple trying to get the Ikea worker to just give them the clue ). Then hit the infamous haybale roadblock. Lena took it, and it seemed simple enough; teams came and went, yet the sisters could not find the clue, for over 7 (or 9?) freaking hours. Finally the last team past them and they were in dead last, so much so that Phil just came and eliminated them right on roadblock site. It really was one of the most, if not the most, heart-breaking elims ever especially since Lena tried so hard, and didn't want to let her sister down.

Race Highlight: Obvious. The 7+ Hours they spent at the roadblock followed by the heart breaking elimination.

I can't believe I forgot them swimming to the pitstop.

To be fair though, they did make annoyed comments about Colon and they did imply that he was selfish in Tanzania. That's enough for me.

Sorry people, I was so busy with exams a week and a half ago and I've been too lazy ever since. So the next 4 teams...






13. Chip & Kim

At first I didn't really like them after taxigate, but they really grew on me after that, especially in Cairo where their kindness really came out. Not to mention that Chip is an eating machine, robbing Colin/Christie of two other leg wins. Sure, Kim was useless in that she did one stinking roadblock, but apparently she really pulled the team's weight with the airline and transportation work. I loved that they yielded the seasons villians, Colon and Crusty. Overall, they worked together well, were fun, were competitive, and managed to not be boring despite being extremely kind hearted and sweet. I was really rooting for them after the tragic Bowling Mom philimination. Second best TAR winners, IMO (although there is not much competition).

Race Highlight: When they yielded Colin/Christie. :D










14. Peggy & Claire

Best.old.team.ever. The gutsy grannies are people that anyone would want as your grandparents...so sweet, likeable, and spunky. They raced with all their heart, despite being old and frail. Peggy's struggle with the hang glider detour in Brazil was really compelling to watch... and I was nervous for her! And no surprise Claire took on that challenge with no reservations. I cheered when they made it through the first elimination by the skin of their teeth (even though I knew they survived) and I loved their surprise to learn they weren't in last place on leg 2. Unfortunately they couldn't work the airports successfully in leg 3 and we didn't get to see much of them.

Race Highlight: The hang glider roadblock in Brazil







15. Nate & Jen

Oh God, these two were the ultimate trainwreck. They had so many hilarious moments that propelled TAR12 to be a great season despite a lackluster cast. From episode 1, their donkey provided us with great entertainment, and their reaction was even more priceless. While it was hilarious to see team after team pass them, thank goodness Ari/Staella's donkey was more of a bitch. Then in leg 3 they once again just miss first place, which got the ball rolling for hilarious mishap after mishap, robbing them of first place time and time again: not being able to find a taxi, leading to Jen screaming in public, "OUR RELATIONSHIP SUCKS!", to Nate calling her a bitch while counting the poles, prompting them to go to the stilts which gave us the hilarious gif of Jen yelling "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!" while falling off the stilts. Then in India they're bickering while making the flower necklaces made for great TV... 'you should know how to do this, you're a girl', to which Jen replies "You should know how to row a boat, you're a guy." Jen's complete irrational hate for TK/Rachel (who suck btw) was awesome, even though it was a stupid (was she really upset with them for catching up? Only Jen). The fact that they broke down for the millionth time and were eliminated on Jen's birthday was the cherry on top of the already melted ice cream. :D

Race Highlight: Breakdown in Croatia thus losing their first place to Ron/Chris. Every moment was hilarious from Jen yelling about their relationship, the cab not letting them in because they were wet and Nate basically telling her to shut the fuck up... and then Jen got scared by the gun being fired the second time, after she knew it was coming.









16. Jon & Al

Sure they were a bit contrived and rehearsed, but that's their job. They brought a fun, spunky, competitive, but nice aspect to the race. Always had a smile on their face and even missed a train to help poor Millie during her asthma attack, yet still remained competitive. They brought smiles to everyone else's face, even in stressful situations and they raced with class. It's too bad that the credit card malfunction robbed them of a top 3 placement, because they were the last really likeable team left after Millie/Chuck left (David and Jeff were nice to, but just not as interesting - though they're not as boring as everyone makes them out to be).

Race Highlight: Beating out Reichen and Chimp to come in first in Kota Kinabalu. All that "let's tie!!!" crap from Chimp was shoved right back in their face. Easy to say "let's tie!" when you're behind the leaders... dumb bitch.
