He's been pissing me off lately too. He drank Obama's Kool-Aid and while he claims to like Hillary he cannot stop bashing her.
Are you kidding about the black guests? He's always got black guests. I mean, not every week, but quite regularly.

Yeah, he has black guests on a lot more frequently than females. And then when he does have females on he talks to them like they're stupid and always has
to mention how women would be inferior leaders because they are "so emotional and irrational"...

Whoa whoa whoa! No badmouthi.......oh shit this is Sucks. Carry on.
eta: I'm a 39 year old female who just happens to be a liberal with conservative tendencies and I LOVE HIS ASS (and not just because I agree with the majority of what he says). I've got two female friends who years ago hung out in his "crowd" who said he can come off as thinking women are worthless with his offhand comments, but in no way shape or form is that who he really is. He has great respect for women and their minds and has actually said several times that women are damn smarter than men and that he is the idiot when it comes to women for underestimating them in his younger years. For the love of God the man is friends with Ann Coulter for fucks sake. Would love to kick back, drink several shots and talk politics with this mofo. |

I like his show as long as he keeps his real personal views out of it. His atheism and chronic weed smoking are fine but once he goes off on stuff like Peta
and how all prescription drugs are bad even antibiotics he comes across as a class a loon.

Dr Will Hatch two point oh |

^While I don't believe his shit about how how the government is essentially good and is only fucked up by conservative ideas, those points that you
mentioned are actually true.

I could do with less actors on his panels. What exactly can some undereducated, not living in the real world, gets everything for free, paid to play
makebelieve say to enlighten me?

I actually think that most of the actors and muscians that he has on are well-informed and they usually surprise me with their comments. I usually do not mind his personal views because on this type of show it would be a bit hard to keep them to himself. He's not there to be impartial. If he was the show would suck. But for 3 weeks in a row now, as a Hillary supporter, it's been hard to watch. They were discussing the 3 a.m. ad and then he played the audio from her book with her discussing how she felt when Bill told her the truth about Monica. She said that she was nearly without breath, gulping for air, angry, hurt, blah blah blah. And he used that against her asking "Is that the person we want answering the phone at 3 a.m.?" That is so not fair. Dealing with a national emergency is completely different than dealing with an issue that you are personally, and emotionally
entangled within. Even Scarborough came to her defense on that one.

Thank God this show is back! Sometimes Maher is irritating but its always amusing watching the various panelists. And who know governor Tim Kaine was such a
card?

I love Matt Taibbi and Dan Savage.
I thought friday's show was really good. |

I agree, McW. I love that Matt T. - he always looks like he thinks the person he's talking to is bullshitting him, and they usually are. And Dan Savage
has to be the wittiest guest ever.
I thought Friday's show was good, great to have it back. But there was something awkward about Craig Ferguson's input, tho' I normally like him. |

Thanks for the heads up that this is back. Looking forward to watching now that the election quickly approaches. Although it can't be soon enough for me.
Dan Savage...met him many years ago when he was a bigtime drag queen in Seattle. I couldn't even remember how he looked in drag. I need to go search for pics. |

I watch Maher and usually agree with his point of view. But his misogyny disturbs me. Case in point was Friday's show when he did his final "new
rule" rant about how stupid the Democrats were for not having John Edwards speak about poverty at the Convention just because we found out he screwed
around on his wife and maybe fathered a love child. Maher's point was basically a "so he screwed around. so what. let him speak" with
absoutely no consideration about how that particular action so soon after it became public knowledge could not only alienate many female Democrats, but would
also show a disrespect to Elizabeth Edwards. Bill seemed so caught up in minimizing Edwards' trangression, it seemed as though women didn't even play
a part in his thinking. He's shown this side once before when he practically blamed Eliot Spitzer's wife for his dalliance with a prostitute by
pointing out his belief that Spitzer was ony paying for what he probably couldn't get at home and so what's the big deal.

DG I agree.. Bill has a real problem with women.. I saw him recently and at the end he went into the way women are with regards to sex and why men cheat..
frankly its rather dated, sexist and well as shrill as he claims women are. What is interesting is I also saw Chris Rock and he also has the same anti woman
rants but what I found interesting is what he said about black women dating white men.. and his belief is that black women don't find white men attractive
at all and do it because they need the rent money... and all the black women around me were rolling in the aisles and confirming this..... and Bill only dates
black women.. so well you figure it out.
I appreciate both Chris and Bill but their misogyny is well part of the comics world.. I have met few that haven't been married numerous times.. have a lot of residual anger and that fuels the fire.. .. now funny writers such as Steven Colbert, Steve Carrell are different.. they are actors not comics. I also really loathe any actor unless they are intelligent and that is an oxymoron as most of them lend little to the discussion.. but every now and then they surprise me.. But that Governor was hysterical.. very sharp.. but Michel Martin was wrong that he was also in the list for VP well so fucking what he wasn't picked so comparing him to that woman was irrelevant.. talking and doing very different... and no one called her on that. |
