It shouldn't matter who a candidate is fucking - we're not basing our decisions on who gives the best blowjob, whether or not he calls the next morning, etc. Affairs shouldn't matter over the larger issues, like poverty which has a much greater impact on this country than whether or not he's a cad to his wife. That was the point he was making. |

And truly I basically agree with that point. What I disagree with is his conclusion that, therefore, Edwards should have been allowed to speak at the
convention. It was too soon, too soon. (and if that makes me crazy in Bill's eyes, I think I'll accept that as a good thing in this case). I would
have rather he argue that the Dems did not have anyone OTHER than Edwards to speak eloquently about the poor in the country. But to argue that it should have
been Edwards, regardless of what had happened, just isn't something that's gonna fly with me.

I agree with Bill and I'm a woman. It SHOULDN'T be too soon. It shouldn't even fucking come up in the first place. So we throw the baby out with
the bathwater if you will just because of a personal transgression that has absolutely nothing to do with his fight for the poor in this country? It's
tabloid politics and it should have no place in gov't. Please note all my "shouldn'ts" because I also realize that no way in hell will it
ever get to be about the policies not the politician's personal lives. What about Elizabeth? Now she is just to be relegated to the woman scorned roll?
I have too much respect for her as a woman and a person to belittle her like that. Do you think she would rather the country completely disregard her years of
working towards helping people and have it suddenly all be about an affair? That's insulting to her dedication and hard work as well.
On another note..."The maverick and the milf"? Hysterical. Glad to have Bill back on my tv! |

I'm a week behind on my Bill Maher so I just watched the prior weeks episode and I just want to reiterate my deep deep love of all that is Dan Savage. His
discussion of if Barack Obama had a daughter who got pregnant out of wedlock and brought her thug baby daddy to the Democratic Convention the election would be
over. Brilliant rant. The Republicans would have eaten Barack and his family for dinner, but for some reason after 30 years of the Republican party making it
okay to govern us on who we can have sex with, when and how Democrats are supposed to not even bring this issue up? Fuck off. I loved Bill's response as
well about why that situation will never arise in the Obama household.

Janeane Garofalo was outstanding last night.
She's smarter than most of the politicians in this country. Paul Begala was great. John Fund is a giant douchebag. |

Love love love when Janeane Garofalo is on. I'm off to watch it right now.

Hey Seaguy, do you remember when Dan Savage used to host gay bingo in drag?

I used to go to Bingo every month. I even won once! I absolutely love Bill Maher. Yeah, he gets way too vicious and angry at times, but hell... with
O'Reilly out there, the yin needs its yang.

It astounds me that filth like John Fund can sleep at night. "Keep it up! Keep it up!" That was all he had, like a pre-teen schoolyard bully. Yes,
John. There's no way to ensure a candidate's victory like pointing out their myriad of inefficiencies. What an asshat.

John Fund is a fuckhead. Janeane was good but I didn't like it when she interrupted Rushdie (and yes I realize that Fund tried to dominate the whole show,
and Bill pretty much let him, just like he always does with neo-con bullies.)

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the pure awesomeness that is Roseanne.
WHY was she only on for like... 3 minutes? What a complete waste of Roseanne! |

Yep because when you can't refute facts and know what's out there is lies, that's all you can say rather than answer questions. Roseanne was great too. |

I'm sure Bill Maher has all kinds of viewers that would be pissed off enough by their Palin comments that they'll be persuaded to vote for McCain.
