That's supposed to be hurtful? I'm sure she loves being skinny, as most skinny people do.

Underwood, by contrast, looks great and can sing like a day off, but she lacks the presence, stage persona and on stage comfort level that artists in the league of McEntire project. Underwood might be the best of the lot, but great singers from televised kareoke contests don't equate to great performers. Opening her 85-minute set with "We're Young And Beautiful" from the quintuple-selling Some Hearts album, Underwood emerged from a ramp just above just above the drum riser before making her way down some stairs at centre stage to greet her adoring masses. As she made her way through a newly polished brand of formulaic pop-country (heavy on the pop, light on the country) and songs such as "That's Where it Is" and "Wasted" it became easy to understand the appeal of Underwood. Much like Shania Twain, her fan base is wide: women love her because she's so non-threatening, men love because she's easy on the eyes and children love her because the simplistic lyrics are easy to sing a long with. Belting out numbers such as "Lessons Learned", "Before He Cheats" and "Don't Forget to Remember Me", there was no denying that voice. Her impact on big fans is easily understood while watching children standing and singing every word. With only one album to her credit, Underwood had to face the reality of trying to stretch 45 minutes of music into an 90-minute show. She filled the time with American Idol nuggets and covers in the form of The Pretenders "I'll Stand By You", a stirring version of the Heart classic "Alone", Guns 'N Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "I'll Rememer You" from '80s metal-mongers Skid Row. If Underwood and her six-piece band proved to be a better-than-average cover bar band, she still made her biggest marks with the monster hit "Inside Your Heaven" and a heartfelt rendition of "Jesus Take The Wheel". But if the question remains, "Is Underwood the next Reba McEntire?" the answer seems clear -- not likely. |

Can't wait to see Carrie's new videos for the CD! They'll be smokin!
Quote: Exactly. I hated her on the show. IYH - BAD! Thought JTTW was one of the stupidest song titles ever. But whenever I saw her on TV, she was just so dang sweet, her live performances have always been terrific (has she hit a bad note yet?), and she isn't too hard on the eyes either. I purchased SH about a year ago, and still listen to it regularly. |

I think what makes the Kelly bashing more legitimate than this silly Carrie bashing isn't only the fact that her fans are doing it in retaliation (quite desperately may I say) but also because Kelly has developed quite an attitude while Carrie has stayed her sweet genuine self. Which is why anyone posting that Carrie is actually a bitch is quite delusional and sad.

Quote: Funny, I don't recall ever seeing an article written about Kelly saying she's a beast backstage or a diva. I've read about enough first hand enounters of both girls to know that Kelly has NEVER been described as cold or bitchy whereas Carrie has more than a few times. p.s. A kelly fan didn't write that article saying Carrie was a bitch...last time I checked people post negative shit about people around here...is Carrie now a protected creature on sucks? |

That article calling Carrie a diva bitch is a Canadian article in which case...
My advice would be to take it with a grain of salt in that case. The Canadian Press fucking hates Idol and rarely has anything complimentary to say about any of its contestants, Canadian or American. They write awful reviews of Canadian Idol and American Idol any chance they get and give only backhanded compliments. They're quick to take shots at the Canadian winners of the show and it's not a surprise that it's no different with the American winners. Also being Canadian I can tell you Canadians hold people up to a high standard when it comes to being nice. Carrie could be really nice but if she said or did one tiny thing that was even remotely not overly friendly, accommodating towards others and polite she'd be ripped to shreds. I hate to sound like a fantard but I have yet to read a Canadian Idol article outside of one written by someone living in the hometown of a contestant that is complimentary towards an Idol contestant, winner or otherwise. |

As night fell and the temperatures cooled, Carrie Underwood took the stage. She sang her hits "Before He Cheats" and "Inside Your Heaven." She thanked fans for supporting her during her American Idol days. "I tried out for this show called 'American Idol,' and I had angels watching over me," Underwood said. Underwood played for packed festival grounds. Fans said they had been waiting all day to see her. "Her voice was beautiful, and she's so pretty," said Lindsay Brunder, a resident of Gurnee, Ill. "She's my new idol." Some fan club members said Thursday night's show was Underwood's best ever. |

Fortunately, a compromise was reached before things got ugly. N7W officials named the pyramid an Honorary New 7 Wonder Candidate, denoting its special status but removing it from competition. Call it a cultural bye sort of what would happen, I suppose, if Carrie Underwood had shown up to challenge Blake and Jordin. Im kidding, of course. Carrie clearly has enough honors already two Grammys, multiple platinum records, PETAs Sexiest Vegetarian of the Year (female division), etc. to chase such Idol fancies. The woman is country musics reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, for goodness sake a head-to-head competition would be completely inappropriate. Go Carrie! :) |

The seats at the festival were still filling when Carrie Underwood took the stage before Bentley, but she sang like she was doing so for a sold-out crowd. (The general admission lawn was just about at its capacity, while many of the much pricier reserved seats stayed empty all day and night.) The audience sang along on her mega hits like "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and her opening number, "Young and Beautiful." But they seemed less sold on her sporadic tributes to Guns 'N Roses. She spent much of her hour and a-half show dancing up and down the catwalks off the stage, touching fans and even stopping to sing to a little girl. While some of her peers are suffering from the tolls of the road, her powerful voice shows no signs of shutting down Uh..em..er..*cough*..*rasp*..unlike some other idol singers out there! |

Everyone needs to shut the fuck up! Gotdamn.
Kelly and Carrie BETTER be bitchy divas for fuck's sake; they've both earned it. I would be disappointed if they were both completely humble, sweet people like when they first auditioned. No fun that would be. We all know that if we were in their shoes, we'd be the same fucking way, so get.the.fuck.over.it t.ia |
