Yep, how did carrie win the under 35 award. I mean is Taylor not in that category ?
Carrie won it so don't just assume anything except MTV. They azre the worst when they make actors that can't act the best actor or britney the best singer.

Here's my recap from Oprah. I didn't see anything in the release about keeping mum until this airs so the recap should by ok with Oprah's people. I should have taken notes but I was too busy people watching and talking to the people sitting by me.

Oprah doesn't allow camera's in the studio so unfortunately I don't have any pics or vids. I'll spare you all the boring details of how the day got started and skip to the good stuff(no Kenny mention intended). Last Name came on over the P.A. once everybody was seated and got a good reaction from the crowd. The warm up guy came came out a few seconds after the song started. He snag during a few parts which was cool. He asked people who they were here to see and I think Carrie got the loudest applause(that might be my bias showing though). For the Kenny fans out there during the crowd warm up we sang "Happy Birthday" to Kenny since today's his birthday. Oprah came out a few minutes later and we started taping. I don't remember the order they were announced but I know Oprah called Carrie "the darling of country music". Kenny came out last though and slapped hands with the fans.

Kenny was the first to perform and he did an acoustic medley of "On The Road" and "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem". Oprah, Carrie, Darius, and Sugarland were sitting in the front row by the stage. When the crowd got up on they're feet when Kenny started singing NSNSNP I could see Carrie singing along to the song which I thought was cool. After the song was over we went to "commercial" and they cleared the stage and set up the chairs and table on stage for the interview. After the break they showed a clip of Kenny during tour rehearsal for his new tour. There was a short interview after the clip ended then it was time for commercial. Carrie was up right after Kenny and they hugged when he was getting off the stage and she was getting on.

I don't remember if Carrie sang first or did the interview first but for the sake of the recap I'm going with performing first and then interview. Carrie looked gorgeous today. She wore a knee length light yellow dress with her hair down(no extensions) and had on nude closed toe Christian Louboutin heels. Carrie's whole band was there and I think Adam Lambert has seen Carrie and live because I think he copied Jimmy's hair style. Carrie sang, as Oprah called it, her "smash hit" Just a Dream. The intro and outro were edited for time but I don't believe there were any other edits done to the song. She got huge applause and cheers when she hit the glory note near the end. I know there's a thread about Carrie's performing habits so I have to add in that during parts where she sings "...the guns rang one last shot..." Carrie held up her index finger and punctuated "one last shot" with her finger like I've seen her do so many times. Audience reaction to the song was great and Carrie gave the band a little round of applause. During one of the breaks either before or after she performed she did an adorable curtsy for the crowd too.

Next came the interview. Carrie also had a brief clip shown. They showed her winning Idol then showed some pictures of her and her awards. Then they showed Carrie and her trainer working out in a park somewhere, after that Ace got some face time when Carrie introduced him, next they showed Carrie going to a writing session. She mentioned that they were gonna write a smash hit that day but no pressure, that got a nice laugh from the crowd, and they showed Carrie singing some of the song they were writing. After the clip was over they talked a little bit about idol and other things. Oprah asked her what she spends he paychecks on and Carrie said shoes and also that she bought a house and that when she bought her first house she couldn't believe she was so young and she owned a house. She also mentioned going to a Kenny concert once during her sophomore year in college and it was a big event in her life. She mentioned growing up in a small town, Oprah mentioned a one stop light town and Carrie seemed excited to tell everybody it was a two stop light town now. They mentioned that when she goes grocery shopping people come up to her and say she looks like Carrie $%+%%@$#% but never say "you're Carrie $%+%%@$#%". That was I think the end of the interview.

Darius was up after Carrie. He sang "It Won't Be Like This For Long" it was edited for time but Darius got into the song and forgot about the editing it down or something like that and messed up. He performed it again and during the break between the first and second performance he joked he was special cause he gets to go twice which got a nice laugh from the crowd. He messed up again during the second performance too. After the second performance came his interview. There was a brief clip showing some Hootie stuff then the interview started. He mentioned that Hootie and the Blowfish are still together. He was happy when somebody recognized him as Darius Rucker the country singer once and not as Hootie.

Sugarland was up after Darius. They got a brief clip and interview too. They showed a clip of them crowd surfing in the plastic balls and the crowd seemed to like that. They were the last ones to be interviewed but yet they're the interview that I remember the least. I don't remember much about the interview. I did learn that Kristian Bush's is one of the "Bush's baked beans" Bush's. He said he hates baked beans though. Then they performed "All I Want To Do" which has been stuck in my head ever since then. The crowd was on their feet for the song dancing and singing along. The crowd had fun with it and so did Sugarland. During the last "oooo" part Jennifer had the crowd sing along. After that everybody got back up on stage for the goodbye. They all left the stage and then once the "show" was over they all came back out for a pic with Oprah. Carrie and Kenny were on one side of Oprah and Jennifer, Kristian, and Darius on the other side. Then everybody left the stage again. They were setting Darius' band's stuff back up though after the show was over so I guess he performed again, without an audience this time, so that way they wouldn't air one of his two other performances where he messed up.

Here are some other random tidbits you might like to know. They didn't air the giveaways but the give away was all 4 artists newest CD's. Brad Pitt's mom was in the audience and I think that was mentioned on camera. Blair Garner from After Midnite was there along with Lisa Dent who is the co-host of US99's morning show. I should have told Blair to play "I Told You So" every night but there was never a good time to talk to him about it. There was no air date given so keep checking your local listings. Seemed to me like Kenny and Carrie got the longest interviews of the bunch. Oprah also called Carrie "the Cinderella of country music". That's about all I can think of.
