Kristen Chenoweth, I guess, would be a notable exception of somebody who has a VERY distinct persona who was elevated to stardom on Broadway. While many, many people in the general public (not just stalwart Broadway fans) would be able to identify Kristen, how many do you think could identify Idina (out of makeup)? Or Kerry Butler? Or Sutton Foster? Or Laura Benanti? Or, for that matter, Laura Bell Bundy?Who are you? Cause I'm friggin' in love with you. Btw, just to stay on topic, just the concept of the show breaks my heart. There are so many talented actors and actresses who are struggling to find jobs and one lucky famewhore gets to be the lead on a (disturbingly) hit Broadway just like that? rawr |

Any one of those talented actors COULD audition for this show, and if they're really that great, they could get the job. It's not like this show is an easy road to getting the job - in fact, it's WAY more grueling than any real audition for a show would be. Also, I'd rather they give leads in Broadway shows to hard-working "famewhores" than to washed-up ex-television-stars like they usually do... |

Also, I'd rather they give leads in Broadway shows to hard-working "famewhores" than to washed-up ex-television-stars like they usually do...Well, to be fair, I haven't watched the show at all, so my opinions don't really add up to much. But still, maybe it's because I'm a bit old-fashioned (although I'm still a teen XD), but I still believe Broadway leads should be given to people who went through proper auditions. And I somehow doubt that this show is harder than the actual audition process on Broadway. Oh well. MTV and Legally Blonde the Musical's got what they wanted. More publicity and attention. Can't blame them but still. As a sidenote, I was talking to one of my teacher's friends, who works with musical leases and rights, the other day, and he said that LB is still going strong and that he doesn't see it closing in the near future. Boo... P.S. I gotta admit, Mario Lopez looked pretty fine in A Chorus Line. |

I have a feeling Drew and I are probably not even anywhere near as big Broadway queens as a couple here at Sucks (Phuz and Remote come to mind). I've seen
Idina in "Rent" (first time!), "Wicked" and "Aida". And some shitty ass off BWay musical thing a couple years ago. She's
tiny! And Kerry I've seen in "Hairspray"and now twice in "Xanadu" <3
I think this particular audition process may be a little more grueling, mostly for all the hours being put in to audition. Normal auditions obviously do not take this long. And while I don't mind movies being made into musicals, I think this one could have been SO much better than it is. |

I'm so jealous you people got to see Idina in RENT. I did see her in Wicked in London though <3 She's fucking gorgeous and a fantastic person to
boot. Gotta love her
I don't really get the hate for Laura Bell Bundy either. I think she's doing the best she can with LB and although I don't think she's the best singer, her energy throughout the show (even when she was sick) was unbelievable. And she was nice enough to still sign Playbills at the Stage Door though she was sick and was talkative and friendly to all her fans. |

I don't really get the hate for Laura Bell Bundy either. There's something about her that is inherently unlikeable. I thought that made her a GREAT choice to play 'Amber Von Tussel' in "HAIRSPRAY", but it's not right for "LEGALLY BLONDE". If the audience doesn't love 'Elle', you've got no show... |

Adam Pascal sexiness <3 And LBB still gets standing ovations every night, so I guess some people must like her. Or at least the tweens do. *INTENSE MTV HATRED* I think the major problem with the musical is that the musical Elle is different from the movie Elle. Granted, it's two different versions I guess, but I love the movie Elle a lot more <3 The musical Elle had to rely more on men, in my opinion, when LB is all about girl power. |
