Yea! You found this thread. I suck at searching for threads. I always get alot that I don't mean to get and can't find the one I want.
Hasselbeck is making the rounds at Superbowl week doing interviews so that at the end he can pimp whatever sponsor is paying him. He mostly just sounds pissed that he's not playing in the superbowl. I like that attitude. |

Anyone watching Kevin Everett on Oprah? That was rough, I had to turn it off.

I DVR'd that. What's rough about it? I think he was on the ABC nightly news tonight too.
Meanwhile, news from Redskins Park reveals that Mooch is now in the running for HC. This might end well after all. |

Anyone heard this? And what are your thoughts?
Playoff seedings May Change
Posted by Frank Hughes @ 10:51:57 am
One of the big things that came out of Commissioner Roger Goodell's press conference the other day -- besides Spygate stuff -- is that the league is thinking about re-seeding the playoffs. The thinking is that they want teams to play the entire 16 games, and they don't want coaches cashing it in like Tampa Bay's Jon Gruden did this year -- and to a lesser extent what the Seahawks did against Atlanta in the last game of the season. What Goodell said was that if a team with a Wild Card berth has a better record than a team that wins a division, than the Wild Card team under the new scenario would get the home game. This year that would have meant that Jacksonville would have had a home playoff game against Pittsburgh and New York would have had a home playoff game against Tampa Bay. Not only does it give the home team a decided advantage -- particularly in the case of Qwest Field -- but think of the value of the revenue streams for the home team, both in and around the stadium. |

The second seed gets two home games in a row.

I like that idea. I'm tired of watching teams rest their players for the last 2 weeks of the season.
Give the home game to the team with the best record. |

It's not a bad idea, but as just demonstrated, once they let the camel's nose under the tent, there'll be so many playoff changes that they'll
wind up resembling the NBA.

Eventually they will push for 14 teams in the playoffs (maybe even 16 teams someday).
But honestly, I don't really have a problem with that. The playoffs are the most exciting part of the season. More playoff games = more excitement. |

I do. It'd diminish the regular season.
You'd trade 16 weeks of 100% every game counting just so the 17th week might -- MIGHT -- be slightly more interesting? If anything, they need to lose the two week gap between the conference championships and the SB. That's the only change that needs to be addressed. |

And the long and boring off season begins.

Oh yeah, and apparently the Seahawks have already named Jim Mora Jr. their head coach in 2009. I wonder if that will set up a weird situation for Holmgren.
I'm sure he is man enough to handle it however.
