I hate to burst your homer bubble, but Hasselbeck isn't "far superior" to any of those.

A 2nd & 5th round pick in next year's draft isn't all that bad for a player coming off a broken leg, with a bad attitude, who was a me-first guy, and wanted out anyway. Time to move on with players who want to be Giants. If I recall, Eli played the best football of his career and won some pretty tough games w/ a guy named Boss at TE.

I love it. Remember when Tiki retired & Petitgout was released and the Giants were picked by most to finish in last place? I expect more of the same heading into the new season.

Posts: 230 (07/21/08 3:09 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	shockey is actually a pretty big loss for the giants. funnily enough, he's overrated in the passing game but incredibly underrated as a blocker -- he's probably the best blocking TE in the league. boss is a good reciever (mainly due to his height), but he is pretty unproven and can't block for shit. it'll hurt the running game for sure. woot bears extended urlacher while i was typing this post

True? You have to love the Redskins -- lose the starting guy one snap into minicamp, lose his back-up after lunch, and by dinner have Taylor on the squad.

True? no the criticism of shockey is that he's a huge dick. which, i mean, is true, but he's still an elite blocking TE, and one of the few (only?) that is a threat in the passing game too. to be fair, a lot of the attention he got as a receiver was maybe due mostly to reputation (he tends to have stone hands sometimes), but his being in the game not telegraphing whether it was a passing/running play was one of shockey's greatest strengths.

I can understand Tom Brady, and even though I despise him, Peyton "I've never met a commercial I didn't do" Manning, but the others are no way, no how, better than Matt. Jesus Christ. Pre-training camp team rankings are as worthless as can be yet there are pre-training camp quarterback rankings now? WTF? And why would anyone get worked up about them? Especially when the recent NFC trend has been shitty QBs like Rex Grossman and Eli Manning making it to the Super Bowl (to be followed by Tarvaris "Action" Jackson at the end of this season).
