Skins trade for Dolphins' Taylor after Daniels goes down
Holy shit! My heart is racing. Hopefully he is not another Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, or Jeff George. But to tell you the truth, bravo Mr. Synder. |

hopefully he doesn't get injured in his first practice leading to yet another trade

Ronnie Brown? HAHAHAHAHA. |

There's nothing to gloat about. It's just part of the NFL's policy to guarantee the Patriots a play-off spot.

We should trade Favre to the Edmonton Eskimos in the CFL for a year. His cold weather game needs work. If he hadn't been parading around dressed like a
frozen wussy in the NFC Championship game they would have won.

Can I just say it is really making me mad to see the preseason QB rankings and to see QB's like Donovan McNabb, Tony Romo, David Gerrard and Dumb Ben ranked higher than Matt Hasselbeck, who basically carried our team last year and is far superior to those guys? I hate to burst your homer bubble, but Hasselbeck isn't "far superior" to any of those. |

Hasselbeck's probably better than Garrard. And I'd rank him over Romo since I still don't trust Romo to win a big game ever.
Ben and McNabb are both easily superior. |

damn the giants lost their cancer
Sean Payton's persistence finally won out. The New Orleans Saints acquired Jeremy Shockey for a second- and a fifth-round draft pick in 2009, a source confirmed Monday. |

Addition by subtraction.
A 2nd & 5th round pick in next year's draft isn't all that bad for a player coming off a broken leg, with a bad attitude, who was a me-first guy, and wanted out anyway. Time to move on with players who want to be Giants. If I recall, Eli played the best football of his career and won some pretty tough games w/ a guy named Boss at TE. |

I like the 2nd round pick, specially cuz the Saints aren't going to improve by too much this year.

With Strahan and Shockey both gone, this gives the media even more reason to pick against the G-Men this year. I love it.

shockey is actually a pretty big loss for the giants. funnily enough, he's overrated in the passing game but incredibly underrated as a blocker -- he's
probably the best blocking TE in the league. boss is a good reciever (mainly due to his height), but he is pretty unproven and can't block for shit.
it'll hurt the running game for sure.

I thought the criticism of Shockey was that he suddenly started refusing to block -- thus his alienation from Coughlin and teammates. True?
You have to love the Redskins -- lose the starting guy one snap into minicamp, lose his back-up after lunch, and by dinner have Taylor on the squad. |

You never have to love the Redskins, only loathe...all the time.

Piranhahaha wrote:no the criticism of shockey is that he's a huge dick. which, i mean, is true, but he's still an elite blocking TE, and one of the few (only?) that is a threat in the passing game too. to be fair, a lot of the attention he got as a receiver was maybe due mostly to reputation (he tends to have stone hands sometimes), but his being in the game not telegraphing whether it was a passing/running play was one of shockey's greatest strengths. |

And why would anyone get worked up about them? Especially when the recent NFC trend has been shitty QBs like Rex Grossman and Eli Manning making it to the Super Bowl (to be followed by Tarvaris "Action" Jackson at the end of this season). |
