What season would make the best movie? |

What season has the most epic storyline/characters that would translate really well as a motion picture? From the winner's point of view or whatever.

Cook Islands, since it basically told from the Winners Point of View

Definitly Cook Islands, we've never seen a season so blatantly edited for the winners. My second choice would be Australia, just because it had this
amazing sense of harsh reality that I don't think any other season came close to having.

Cook Islands has a lot of elements of an actual story/movie (distinct good and bad guys, twists, moral decisions, etc.), so I'd second that.

I don't really mean taking what we were given on TV and making it into a movie. I mean what season has a good storyline that would fit as a movie, like
Ulong's complete demise might work better and such

Definitely Cook Islands, nothing else can come close. The perfect storyline - racially diverse underdog Aitu 4 overcome the Caucasian-dominated Raro 8 who
mutineed against them. It played out perfectly. Also, there are plenty of main characters (Yul, Ozzy, Jonathan, Parvati), quirky but more minor characters (Cao
Boi, Nate, Flicka), positive ensemble-ish minor characters (Sundra, Becky, Stephannie), characters that serve a subplot storyline (Candice, Adam, Cristina,
Jenny, even Billy to an extent). If it did indeed turn into a movie, they might feel the need to cut a few of the 20 that don't further any of the plots...
kinda like they did anyway in the actual season, such as Rebecca, Brad, JP, Cecilia, Sekou. It could all work really well actually. And plus there's some
actors already in the cast, Sundra & Jonathan!

Oh contraire! Africa imo, was much harsher and more epic.Oh I don't necessarily agree with that. Yea the temperature sucked in Africa, but they had to deal with the rice/floods/Jerri/other crap, and no other season really measures up IMO. And plus the entire cast is already made up of mactors!fixed. |

Vanuatu would make the best story from the merge on because you really can't beat someone vowing revenge and then making good of it. Box office gold I
tell ya.

Easily Cook Islands. Nothing else comes close. It played out perfectly for the producers.

Not to mention the Australian forest fires, Kangaroos, good combo of good and evil, and the fact is that they couldn't even get dysentary because they had
no rice and had to trade their entire shelter for more.

Here are the seasons that would make the best stories:
1. Borneo 2. Australia/Outback 3. Pearl Isands 4. All Stars 5. Vanuatu 6. Palau (Act 1 - Decimation of Ulong. Act 2 - Friends turn on one another) 7. Cook Islands Interestly, my first 6 choices are the seasons that are commercially available on DVD. So the rationale for releasing DVDs is that the season plays out like a movie that people would watch. |

Pearl Islands will be dramatic for a movie. First, the marooning. There's a loser (Ryan s.), there's a lot of drama and crying. (Lillian). the theme is
Pirates. There's crying. There's blaming Christa for the thing she didn't do. There's the antagonist.(Jonny Fairplay)
Australia too. The flood is awesome for a movie. |

No season where the villain wins would translate well into film, so Thailand is out of the question, PI would be good because even though the villain defeats
the hero the hero's sidekick ends up triumphing in the end (interesting neh?), and of course CI
Another interesting question: What would the writers change in a theatrical version of each season? Which season would end up the most faithful to the original in a film? |

Oh come on, it's Borneo, easily. A ton of dynamic characters and although the gameplay is pretty straightforward, there are enough plot twists and epic
moments that make what's on paper a very predictable ending suspenseful all the way through. Rich's win itself is totally unexpected but it's like
The Sixth Sense; if you watch it a second time knowing what happens you'll be kicking yourself for missing all the clues, which is the best kind of movie
ending.
ASS would probably be my second choice. It would actually be near-perfect if we didn't know the players before and had no expectations going into it, but that's what made it so disappointing. But the two lovers making the final two is probably something EPMB would've killed for in any other season. China would be third. Great characters, a bunch of great events--I mean, so much of it worked out in a way that couldn't have been scripted any better: James not using the idols, Jaime and Peih-Gee throwing the challenge, Jaime playing a fake idol...and the ending makes sense but not in a totally obvious way. The Cook Islands answers make sense to me actually, but there are three big problems with it as far as a movie would work: 1. The heroes are in a great position and then comes the mutiny, which is a major obstacle, and of course is perfect story-wise. But after Jonathan flips back, nothing stands in their way of victory--the villains don't put up a fight at all. 2. Even with the mutiny, we know that Yul's got the hidden idol in his pocket, and he's easily the glue that holds the heroes together, so we're not terribly worried for his situation as long as he has that in his pocket. 3. Jonathan and Cao Boi would steal the show for sure, but unless you plan on cutting some of the lesser characters, the pacing would be incredibly inconsistent. The rest: Outback wouldn't work at all. There are so many big events early on and it slows down a lot about halfway through. It'd be like the screenwriter had a ton of brilliant ideas, got excited by them, shoved them all into the beginning of the story and then the well ran dry. Africa's in the same boat, the Brandon/Frank date is really the last big moment; but to be honest the only huge, major plot twists are the switch and then Brandon voting for Kelly. Marquesas would be good up until Vee's win, which comes out of nowhere. Even Kathy's "so close" story would be fine but Vecepia just didn't have the great "Here's why she wins" story presented. Thailand has the story with the cold, calculating sociopath winning, but with characters, it's lacking. Amazon and PI I don't think would work at all with all the post-merge chaos; it would kind of feel futile to get involved with the story despite the great characters because circumstances changed so easily so often. Vanuatu's a good comeback story, but some of the characters are a bit lacking. Palau would be great but I think the Ulonging would be hell to watch back-to-back without the week in between to wonder if it was going to continue or finally end. Guatemala would be pretty weak. Panama had some characters but you lose the three best right at the end and then it's a lame finish. Fiji's second half would be great, but it takes too long for the action to start. |

That's a really good post Beatles! I would like to say that if I wrote a Fiji movie I would make the post-switch (not merge, switch) part the concentration
and basically breeze through the pre-switch stage

Amazon's battle of the sexes in the jungle with a female triumphing over 3 men would make a good story. It also has villains and underdogs, emotions
(Jenna's mom, anger at Rob), sex appeal and a psycho in the jungle.

C'mon now. The incredible love story of Rob and Amber certainly puts Survivor AllStars at the top of the list. The lovers dodging Burnett's landmines
and twists as they masterfully dance their way past the villains, the dummies, and the bitter betties. Betrayal. Bitterness. Hypocrisy. Fights. Romance.
Heroism. And finally the Prince and Princess of Survivor reach the F2 together, foreshadowing their future reign as the King and Queen of Reality TV.
