No, it was shown to make James look stupid. Also as part of the "Parvati damage control" theme of the episode. Ozzy and James were portrayed as complete dumbasses the past few weeks, making Parvati look even smarter for ousting them.

Huh? We saw last episode James/Amanda discuss Pavarti and James discuss how he thought Pavarti was all about girl power. And in the "damage control" well that damage control didn't work very well. Amanda told us that she didn't trust Pavarti whatsover. And James was angry with Pavarti when she said that he didn't give her credit for having a plan. Pavarti's damage control wasn't very successful. And the scene was subtly reminding us that at one time Amanda blindsided James, and James/Amanda are still friends. (to be reminded later on) So the idea was that a guy like James can understand it's a game, and it was a good game move. What he was mad about was Pavarti making her move his fault, that somehow he had wronged Pavarti. If Pavarti had just said I can't beat you and Ozzy and that's it. He probably would have been like, well okay. Not thrilled with you, but it's a game.

If Alexis does indeed go in this episode, then why would Amanda/Parvati keep Cirie over Natalie at F4? Other than keeping their word to Cirie, Natalie makes a much more tantalizing F3 goat. Using that assumption, then they must know prior to F4 that there will be a F2 and not a F3, because Parvati/Amanda would logically only bring Cirie to F3 over Natalie because they assume she would be easier to beat in a F3 IC. However, I also wonder why Cirie and Natalie wouldn't join together at that point to force a tie and break Parv/Amanda up. Cirie has to know that Natalie would be a much better F2 goat than either of the two girls, as well as knowing that she would be solely dependent on winning the F3 IC in order to make F2 because Parv/Amanda would take each other, where she may have a better shot with Parv or Amanda out of the picture and Natalie in their place.

Jason said it well. No Favorite wants to bring a Fan to the end. Maybe they think that all of the Fans will automatically vote for the Fan. I suspect that's it.. And Cirie, while difficult to beat, is a better option than James or Ozzy. But I don't think the Final 2 is announced until afterwards.
