Of course, with the way the dollar is devaluing by June $600 may only buy you a loaf of bread. |

For a few folks, though, don't start spending it quite yet. I read yesterday that single folks making over $75K a year, and couples making over $150K a
year, will NOT get this rebate.
For those who do get it, I also read that there's the possibility that you'll get an additional $300 per child. My big question is... for our lawmakers who are going along with this, I'd like to ask them where in the HELL the money for it is coming from. Oh, that's right - just add it to the already RECORD debt. *shakes head* |

this kinda seems like giving unspent money in your bank account back to your employer at the end of the year and saying you paid me too much, even though you.
yourself, have huge credit card bills.

Millions, and now you are giving us "extra money" ???? It doesn't make sense.

It'll go toward paying bills, if I get one at all. Between all the jobs I've worked over the past year, I might be right on the cusp of making too
much to qualify.

I'm sure 95% of the people here going out and spending it right away have some kind of debt they could pay off.

I can't even imagine blowing it. Sure, it's like the government is giving you money to pay back big business (or big oil, in my case), so they're
really helping themselves out, but I can't imagine wasting it on more shit that I don't really need.
Paying down debt is the best thing anyone can do with this money, despite what the government wants us to do with it. |

Or put some away in an emergency fund, like that article mentioned.

so the US wants to stimulate the economy by giving $600 for each person even though they are in serious debt?

I have a question, is this money I'm just going to have to pay back come next April?

It's going into the wedding account. August isn't that far away. The florist will be pleased we can all get a flower. Instead of sharing that one rose.

I'm fairly sure I can get a weeks worth of groceries and beer plus a full tank of gas.
The extra money to pay for all this will come from the GPO. |
