Cirie couldn't have won in an F3 anyway - she'd have gotten Eliza's vote and possibly Jason's, but there's no other vote there to be had,
meaning Amanda at least beats her and Parvati does too if she gets Jason's.

Hi Edgic!!! I'm back to posting so I wanted to stop by and say hi! :) I missed you guys and read EVERY page of this whole thread! I should have been P for
my boot episode! haha. It was fun seeing all the arguments in here this season and I have to say, Edgic really did it in this spoiler free (mostly) season! You
guys called the winner! Congrats!

Is that REALLY Eliza? Wow!
Gotta ask the real thing-what's your take on Cirie and her gameplay compared to Parvati's? Who was truly calling the shots and how was it edited compared to what was really happening? Gotta take it from the real thing and someone who is bright enough to fully comprehend what was happening out there around her. Love to hear your take on it since the editing left me oddly confused this season. |

CL thanks for being my watchdog! I loved reading your reports each week!
Jedi - Cirie and Parvati are both great game players. I think Cirie came up with a lot of the plans like getting Erik to give up his necklace, but it was Parvati who pulled in Natalie and then Alexis. They both would have been very deserving winners. |

Eliza, what did you think of our spec based on your ep.1-4 edit that you'd make it to the endgame? I was thinking you, Cirie, and Parv would end up working
together and Amanda\Ami with her early UTR edits would get bumped off.
Day One - Eliza and Parvarti two-shot dragging shelter wood. Eliza: "I think we have a good group. I hope we win." BUT USED TO BEGIN PARVATI'S FIRST STRATEGY CONFESSIONAL After Ep.4 I posted: Parvati and Eliza might end up being the most richly edited relationship in the game. Parv is shown interacting more with her than with James, Amanda, or anyone else. PS: I gave you P in your boot episode.

Eliza - if there was a person that I wanted to win more than the "edgic" rules would indicate, it was you. My gosh, quite a difference from the
first time around... (i feel so guilty about those things i wrote about your edit in S9...)
I don't know if you saw it the same, but the puzzle challenge where you were looking at "the big picture" was a terrific scene on TV. It made you seem smart and keenly observant. Yeah, you're an L3, so it makes sense that you're those things. But they really played that up. So did you ever get a sense that the editing gave the viewers a different emotional view of players or scenes than what really happened, rather than merely a glimpse of their strategy and gameplay? |

i don't care if this comes off ass-kissery or whatever -I adore Eliza, I think everyone knows that.
With me this season got lucky for me, because when Eliza left so early I thought we were heading for a season in the crapper -she had provided so much good drama- but luckily we had so many ridiculous strategic blunders. Eliza I think you play really well and badly at the same time -if that makes any sense. And it makes it so much fun to watch. You know what you're doing, you can size up the dynamics- but then you get confrontational in such a glorious way. I was so happy, well actually no, I was crushed -with how you went out playing all your cards. I have no idea why strategically you were taken out from the fans point of view- if Natalie and Alexis wanted part of Parvati's clique then at least take out James or Ozzy to drive her closer to them for insurance -the same with Erik. I was just dumbstruck why they would take you out. Also, dammit, dammit, dammit, I was so sure you were in the endgame again- seriously those editors like you a lot- you got one of the best stories/edits both seasons you played. I really don't care about the newer players since All-stars ended and only had a handful of favorites -so I was more than happy that my three favorites came back -you, Cirie and Yau-Man- ugh, so close too to you three taking it all the way. DAMN, DAMN, DAMN. Okay, done with my gushing -if I ever run into you in NY -drinks on me! You're the tops! |

Hi Eliza and thanks for some eye-popping entertainment.
Three things, if you're inclined to answer: 1. Did you deliberately take so long in the voting booth when voting for the winner? It looked like you took even longer than the edited version a) for entertainment purposes and b) so you could have one last dig at the F2. 2, Did you think that season-long battering they showed you being subjected to was an acurate reflection of how it felt? I mean I thought that you would miss the end-game simply because they edited you as having too many hurdles to overcome but did it actually feel like you were physically beaten up as well as having few options strategically? 3. Did anybody ever mention what would happen in the event of a tie? Thanks again for being such an astute player and such a good sport. |

3. Did anybody ever mention what would happen in the event of a tie?To save Eliza from having to repeat this again, I'll restate what she said (hope you don't mind): They were not told what would happen in the event of a tie. Jeff had a little white envelope that contained instructions of what to do, but the tie-breaker was never revealed. Eliza's best guess was that it would be a fire-making challenge between the Final Two but no one knows. She considered voting for Amanda to force a tie, but she feared that Amanda would actually end up winning somehow and she did not want this to happen. |

Hey Eliza! Thanks for posting! Were there any season-long edits that surprised you (Natalie being so UTR forever as an example)?

Thanks, GF. So Eliza was aware of every other person's voting intentions?
Just saw Eliza's thread in the main Sucks forum. It's a great read, if others are interested. |

She said she didn't know it would force a tie, but she was pretty sure it would.

Very insightful. I think it's interesting that the couples' alliance didn't rate a mention in the season recap at the beginning of the finale. By the end, the showmances had been relegated to only a means for showing that Parvati had changed her game. And yet, why the rat imagery? Why pile on the negativity early if we were not only going to get a metamorphosed Parvati out of them but also the Romber-type declaration of love in front of the jury? If, as always, we work back from the Final TC to follow the threads that culminated in it, how can the editing reconcile the rat imagery and the SPVs by Jonathan and Cirie with Ozzy's jury performance? More questions. How can the season's recap entirely disregard every pre-jury fan except - Kathy? I get it that theme of the season was 'Survivor is a lot harder than fans think it is' but to completely ignore the role Tracy (for example) played in the season was a travesty. It looked like Parvati's win was a hard one to sell to the general public so they went with the massive over-simplification of "Parvati pulls together a women's alliance after the switch as insurance, the women blindside the men, ergo Parvati deserves the win for being the most strategic player." This is a massive over-simplification that ignores many things, not the least important of which being Cirie's stellar strategy. I guess what I'm saying is that I can see how Parvati's edit was extremely well tended-to throughout. However, there are things about some editing choices this season that don't quite gel. They leave me feeling as though I'm missing something. It looked like |

I don't know if it's relevant, but in the end Parvati burned down the shelter and said "now the rats have no home" which stood out to me. A lot.Maybe that comment brought closure to Parvati's edit but it doesn't explain the transition between the successive scenes of Ozmanda kissing/ fossicking rats and Ozzy's FTC declaration The editors had what is generally regarded by the viewing audience as a feel good story and they chose to tarnish it with bucketloads of negativity. Why? Was it merely to show that Parvati was able to win by rising above conventional ideas of romance? That she was able, as she said in answer to Natalie's question, to use flirting with both men and women to get what she wants? Do the editors really think that editing Parvati as someone who rises above flirting to ride a women's alliance to victory is a more attractive story in the eyes of the viewing public than a story about a hero who values his new-found love above a million dollars? By pouring early scorn and negativity on the showmances they denied themselves the opportunity of editing something much more attractive to the viewing audience. ****** Probst, assessing the chances of each of the Final 7 on TV Guide: Erik: As long as Erik has that immunity necklace around his neck, he's going to be OK.

Yay, Eliza is here, too!
For those who are tempted to ask her questions (aren't we all?), please note that in the Sucks subcategory, she's got a thread stickied by the moderators, where she's fielding questions left and right, including some that have been asked here, above. Let's try to keep this thread to Edgic/editing, or at least questions related to edit, for the most part... That said: Eliza, what did you think of Natalie's edit, to be SO hidden for so long when she obviously has a very entertaininig personality? besides the "4th place phantom" edit that Darrah, Jenn, and Denise got, do you know of any reason she would be so hidden? What did we miss about her from newAirai? |
