The main reason the Australia Detour were so unfair is that there was absolutely no way to go fast in the walking task and no way to mess up the didgeridoo one. The nails vs. coal one was pretty bad (but it put my least favourite team last and my favourite team first, so I irrationally love it). Speaking as a person who can't hum and vibrate his lips at the same time, I'd say there was a way to mess up the didgeriodoo play. Not to mention it was at least a 6 mile drive in the Lost City itself, which would add some time. Then again, I'm biased since Darwin had my least favorite team last and my favorite team (out of the four) first.

Posts: 5384 (02/18/08 10:24 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I'd say there was a way to mess up the didgeriodoo play Yolanda posted on here about how ridiculously easy it was (finding the place being the only hard part about it) - I don't think even Fran/Barry would have struggled with, which is really saying something! And if Rayo didn't get lost finding it, it's hard to imagine anyone else would have either. The fact Mojo made up so much time without the Hippies screwing up navigationally (unlike almost every team in the coal/nail leg) rubbed it in a bit. Though seeing Mojo fall apart again the following leg was awesome, since I was convinced they would win.

It had two great racing teams and two HORRIBLE ones, but every season does. The only complaint for me was the obvious bunching was the worst this season. Some epsodes would not start 12 hours later but when they knew the teams would bunch. However with that said the locations were great. Oman, Brazil, Japan, Italy, Thailand, NO INDIA, Colorado, and West coast Australia were all great spots. Also picking Russia making just to spite Lake & Michelle I think. The tasks were fun to watch and only two of them were luch involved. Also this season was the great foot race and MoJo's sneer on the mat. Also don't forget Phil's reaction to several of the teams and the whip character in Perth. Great Season.

There were more than two luck tasks - digging in Oman, the gnomehunt, the German dancing (based on the subjectivity of the judges), the bottle breaking, the plate breaking off the top of my head. I really did not like the Tokyo leg; it's fucking Tokyo and all they could manage was delivering stuff and riding rollercoasters? Not to mention that for such a boring leg, it was pointless because Rayo got cash and everyone bunched up in Alaska.

Danielle/Dani returned to Chaika and they got their race bag back.

I wouldn't count the German dancing (especially compared to the Burkina Faso one this season), but searching towers for scrolls, searching laundry and the Russian dolls were luck-based too. But the entire race is about luck and I'd prefer that to a bunch of tasks favouring the young athletic teams or the menial TAR7 chores.

Every single detour involved a needle-in-haystack sort of challenge that only added to the considerable advantage the lead teams had. It was such bullshit because the teams were all there buying tickets in Moscow, and - not in any particular order - some got on the flight that was way earlier. At least in TAR9 that was original (and it wasn't a proper task, it was just a routemarker to help break up a bunching-free leg). TAR12 made it an actual Detour. TAR11's stair-counting Fast Forward is the worst There was NOOOO bunching until they got to Greece. They were bunched in Leg 2 and the flight to Russia in Leg 3. Leg 4-6 only lacked bunching because of the computer problems at the airport. I preferred it to the guaranteed bunching in TAR10 that happened every leg and guaranteed the first 15 minutes would be a total waste of time.
