Posts: 130 (02/14/08 10:15 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	-Yesterday's Winners: American Idol (Fox), The Moment of Truth (Fox) -Honorable Mention: Deal or No Deal (NBC), Law & Order (NBC) -Yesterday's Losers (Excluding Repeats): Big Brother: 'Til Death Do Us Part (CBS), Wife Swap (ABC), America's Next Top Model Exposed (CW), Cashmere Mafia (ABC) Speaking of Big Brother (themed 'Til Death Do Us Part), the overnight results were not positive, with a fourth-place 3.4/ 6 at 8 p.m. Although the strength of Big Brother always falls within the young adult demographics, an overnight delivery this low means the results cannot be good. Maybe I missed something, but why was one couple already evicted last night? As for Sheila and Adam, oy!

BUT what do you think the effect a failure in ratings will have on the summer edition of BB?

Then they can have a full season (without a writers strike ending, etc.) as normal. Ratings for summer BB are always decent.

Obviously nobody that trolls these threads, since we all have mental disorders.

If it continues to drop, then it doesn't look good at all.

FOX averaged an 11.5 rating/19 share in primetime, cruising to the win over second-place NBC, 6.6/11. CBS finished third at 4.7/8, edging ABC's 4.4/7. The CW was way back at 0.9/1. "Idol" also powered FOX to a win among adults 18-49, as the network drew a 7.9 rating for the night. NBC finished a distant second at 2.7. ABC, 2.5, took third, followed by CBS, 2.0, and The CW, 0.6. I know that BB needs to have somewhat decent TV ratings to continue but IMO the number of people who bought the live feeds for the Winter edition and are watching it online would be a more reliable indicator of how well the show is or isn't doing. I forgot about it being on last night too so I didn't set my vcr to record it while I was out.

I have know idea how the feed are doing, but I kinda have a bad feeling about that... When the feeds first went live a few nights ago, I also had that Jokers quick updates window open (so I can keep informed on what's going on on other feeds). I kept hitting refresh and couldn't help but notice how little it was being updated, considering it was the very first night of feeds and all the drama that was already going down. I was hoping it just meant that a lot of their feed recappers were students and already in bed since it was a school night.

This is where it gets interesting and I think I'll get the opportunity to start being very critical of CBS and an industry which in general, does not seem to want to turn on the dime. The thing is, they all want to drive the fancy $150,000 sports cars, but in their day jobs? They maneuver like they're driving a ten wheeled truck. CBS has a summer hit with Big Brother. It's very clear, after only two airings, that it cannot possibly compete in any meaningful way against American Idol. Indeed it could not compete with Deal or No Deal, or even the abysmal Wife Swap, which ABC will surely cancel. The thing I am looking for is for CBS to pull Big Brother off the Tuesday and Wednesday night lineup immediately and stick it somewhere else where it has a chance. Or pull it off the air immediately and taking a week to figure it out. I am looking for CBS to make some kind of announcement about this before the next airing of Big Brother and if something like that doesn't happen in the next couple of weeks I will be forced to believe that whatever it is CBS values, maximizing profits isn't its top priority. I can't imagine Sumner Redstone being ok with that, but I guess we'll see.

Not only it is up against AI, but Top Model (which I watch while I record AI) and Deal or No Deal, (which my husband loves.) I cancelled my feeds already. I just cant seem to get into BB this time. Im kinda hoping it finishes quickly before it leaves a bad taste in my mouth for BB10. I dont want this season to ruin Big Brother altogether for me.
