I have been contemplating jumping into the fray and creating my own listing thread in CTS for quite some time now. But all of the good ideas so far have been taken. I love movies, I love reality TV, I love music, I love whole numbers under 20.... What oh what was a guy like me going to do??? And then it dawned on me in a moment of brilliance: No one had done a video game countdown yet.
I have been a video game buff since I was a very little kid, so this thread is right up my alley. I have owned almost every system that has come out from the original Atari to the Nintendo Gamecube. HOWEVER, I do not own a Wii, PS3, or XBOX 360, so do not expect any newer games to make this list. I am very much a retro kind of guy.
Without further ado, I shall begin.
#100.
Paperboy (NES)
I loved this game from the second I picked it up as a little child. The concept is very simple: You are a paper delivery boy and you must deliver papers to all the subscribers in your neighborhood. You can tell who you need to deliver to because their house is either yellow or white. All the non subscribers houses are red. The rules are as easy as can be. You must launch papers at the doors or into the mailboxes of your subscribers. If you miss their house, or accidentally break a window, you lose their subscription. When you run out of lives, or lose all your subscriptions, the game is over! If you can make it through the neighborhood without missing a house, you pick up one extra subscriber to deliver to the following day. After delivering to every house in the neighborhood, you must make it through a pretty easy obstacle course to earn extra points and lives. If you can make it through the obstacle course, you will find three overly ecstatic people cheering you on at the end. If you can make it through the whole week without losing all your subscriptions or your lives, you win the game! But there are several obstacles to overcome that make your job not so easy. Everything from remote control cars, kid on tricycles, tornados made out of bees, little terrier dogs, and even the Grim Reaper will do whatever it takes to distract you from your mission! All in all, a very fun game. It would have ranked higher if it wasn't so easy and there was more substance to it.
