Huh ? Cirie's edit is VERY MUCH different than it was in EI. Just like Steph's edit was VERY MUCH different than it was in Palau. And why did Steph get this different (ie more negative) edit in Guatemala ? Because she lost. And she lost BIG-TIME. Six to One. I expect that Cirie will suffer the same fate in the F3 of this season.

The past is not necessarily the future. The key is to work out what is the same and what has changed. There are two types of negativity - negativity to show that they lose because they are arrogant and negativity of a mastermind. Stephanie and Cirie are very different. In G. Stephanie was playing very very openly and she *showed* her arrogance to her fellow players. It was obvious. However Cirie's "arrogance" in some ways is more like Todd's. Both of them keep it hidden from their fellow players. Booted players who are Cirie's victims go "Huh? We never realized..." when they watch their boot episode. In a recent episode Ami and Tracey state that Cirie is all sweetness and light and there is something about her that makes them want to trust her. Tracey being the perceptive person she is still feels like there's something wrong and Ami was burnt in the past. The key thing to the negativity is (1) despite the negativity is the person still being shown as in control and (2) is the negativity only shown to the audience or do the players in the game see it too because I'm afraid its the players who vote for the winner, not the audience and (3) even if they see it are they likely to take offence.

Also, if as I suspect Cirie uses Parvati to break up the showmance alliance, the person they will blame is Parvati not Cirie. Parvati is far closer to them than Cirie is so it would be a personal hurt. Also Cirie is good at keeping her hands away from the dirt. Ozzie for example thinks of Parvati like a little sister and we all know how well he dealt with betrayal from a person he didn't even like ("Mutineers are the first to die"). He'll go beserk on Parvati's ass when she votes him off. Amanda will remain loyal to Ozzie (they are truly in love and are still going out).

Are you actually reading my posts at all? I said,

Stephanie couldn't attempt to hide her negativity. She didn't even attempt to be sweetness and light. Cirie is at least attempting to hide hers.

But Cirie's arrogance and bitchiness is NOT being hidden from the other players. Ami has had confessionals about Cirie's disdain for the fans. "We were first-time players too once". And Cirie's petulance in the boat was noticed by the other paddlers.

Ami was talking about all the favs in general, not just Cirie. Also these are not exactly big things compared to say Stephanie who you are comparing Cirie against. I'm sure if you go through all the reel for any player you will go and find scenes where they are having a petulent fit and people are rolling their eyes. They're stuck on an island for a lot of days together. Once again I point to Tracey and Ami's scenes where they say she is being sweetness and light and have something that makes you want to trust her. Also Joel's admittance that he didn't know how hard Cirie was playing. Granted Joel isn't exactly the most perceptive of the bunch but I can't imagine anyone saying that of Stephanie booting them.

And let us not forget how they managed to find every scene where someone said something negative about Todd to make us think the rest of the players hated him while in fact they were friends with him.

Let's look at it like the editors would - with the knowledge of who the winner is. Ten fans and ten faves at the start. The ten faves include OTTP types Cirie and Yau-man. Then, holy shit, Cirie ends up winning the game ! We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun ! Now, how do they edit Cirie's win ?

The editors can only work with what they have and what they are used to. The type of "fans are happy" wins in the past have all been alpha males and they have been leaders of their tribe, often in camp and in challenges. If Cirie wins how are they supposed to show this as an alpha male win? Cirie - leading in camp. No. Cirie leading in challenges. Er, no. Cirie leading anyone anywhere? No. Cirie is a naturally strategic player, masterminding boots from the shadows, using sly mental tactics. The only thing they are used to from there is the negative mastermind player aka Brian, Richard and Todd. Ergo, the negative mastermind edit for Cirie.

Besides that argument is all about what you think the editors should have done not what is actually shown in front of you on that screen. You'd think that the editors wouldn't make America's sweetheart invisible is his boot episode too and make Jonathan into a heroic leaving scene. You know I still find it interesting how people don't seem to pick up how suspicious that is - making Yau invisible. It is clearly designed to reduce the negativity on Cirie. If they were going to do the big negative downfall for Cirie that would have been a prime scene to play up on. But they deliberately didn't. They clearly want Cirie to be negative but not *too* negative.

Another difference between Cirie's edit and Stephanie is in certain episodes Stephanie went back to the old Palau Stephanie. It was to make us believe she could actually win. They are not doing that for Cirie. They are not putting in the distraction false hope. If she were to follow Stephanie's footprints, get almost to the end and fail due to her negativity you'd think they would follow that same formula.
