I've gotten used to the new look. Don't mind it. Like the faster pace. Don't like the music, though.

Beverlee McKinsey (ex-Alexandra) passed away on May 2nd.
McKINSEY, Beverlee Died May 2nd, 2008 in Los Angeles from complications due to a kidney transplant. She was 72 years old. Ms. McKinsey was an actor best known for roles in daytime television. She created the character Iris Carrington on NBC's Another World, and played the part from 1970-1979. She also created the role of Alexandra Spaulding on CBS's Guiding Light, and performed it from 1984-1992. In 1980, NBC developed the program Texas to capitalize on the popularity of her character, Iris Carrington; and Ms. McKinsey was the first and only performer in the history of daytime drama to receive star billing. In 1998, the editors of Soap Opera Magazine voted her the best actor in the history of daytime television. TV Guide's, Michael Logan, wrote of her in 1992, "For my money, Beverlee McKinsey is the greatest actress ever to grace daytime drama." Ms. McKinsey performed the lead role of Corie on Broadway in the original production of Neil Simon's, Barefoot in the Park, where she was directed by Mike Nichols, and co-starred with Robert Redford. She also originated the role of Honey in the London production of Edward Albee's, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? She guest starred on multiple prime time television series, including The FBI, Hawaii Five-0, The Mod Squad, Mannix and The Defenders. She appeared in films for Clint Eastwood (Bronco Billy), Sidney Pollack (They Shoot Horses, Don't They?), and Mark Rydell (The Reevers). Ms. McKinsey was nominated four times in the lead actress category for a National Daytime Emmy Award. She is survived by her son, Scott, (who directed her on Guiding Light), and her grandson, Marley. No memorial service is planned. Published in the Los Angeles Times on 5/4/2008. |

She was awesome - I had always hoped that one day she would return - but I guess they aged Alexandra and Alan down quite a bit. She will always be Lujak's
mom to me. When she was on the show, Alexandra Spaulding was a major character.

They tried and tried and even came close on GL, but there was only ONE Alexandra Spaulding -- Beverly McKinsey. Her scenes were fabulous and when she was
matched with the late, great Christopher Bernau as her brother Alan, it was riveting.

Sad news.
Her scenes with the late, great Michael Zaslow were gripping. I remember when Roger was married to Alex, but having an affair with Mindy and Alex found Mindy's earring under the bed...the confrontation gave me goosebumps! |

I liked the Philip/Beth/Mindy/Rick quadrangle from like 20 years ago too. Those were the days. (Worst storyline: Reva clone)I still remember rushing back from class to watch the whole quadrangle. All of my friends including my roommate were into GH and the whole Luke and Laura thing. I would try to beat my roommate back so I could turn my soap on first. That story line must go back at least 25 years. |

Beth Ehlers is leaving. She is going over to AMC. I read that there is a tragedy in store for Daisy, but I hope they don't kill Harley off. Recast it.
Leave the door open so Beth can come back.

That blows. I love BE. Losing her to AMC really sucks too.

Didn't RPG also go to AMC?
I heard Beth was banging one of her on screen lovers, but I had assumed it was Cyrus. |

Yeah RPG plays Jake Martin (#857 I think) on AMC now.

Ugh, it seems like everyone is leaving now. Kim Zimmer better not leave.

It won't be any time soon - she has a lot of front burner story lines going on right now, with her movie and the inevitable demise of Josh/Cassie. Cyrus
should have made sure that the fake other man wasn't gay first.
Also, I heard that Reva is going to have to deal with a devastating loss and that tragedy strikes on Daisy's graduation day. At first I thought Harley was going to die, but why would that be devastating to Reva? If it were Dylan, that's another story. I know that Harley is going to leave town with Rafe, but Rafe is going to come back to Springfield. Do you think they'd kill Daisy? Where are all the young people going? Oh well, in 2 years Sarah will be a teenager and Ava's baby will be grown up and his baby daddy will be in Springfield.. Kids on soaps age quicker than Reva's clone. |

If they only have a year left, I wish they would bring back the original Mindy and Phillip.

She did. When she told the Exec Producer she asked the actress if she would like to incorporate that into the show. That's why there wasn't that much
build up to it, they didn't have time.

Who is that mysterious guy with the long hair and aussie accent?
I'm so glad that Mallet told off Dinah. I really want Lizzie to get her company back now. I have to say that I love the Lizzie storyline, she reminds me of a youdn Mindy. She does remind me of Krista Tesreau. There are so many Lewis's they could bring back. Why does everyone live in The Beacon? Bill and Ava look awfully cramped in that room, and since he's a CEO - can't he afford a house? And when he gets a house, it shouldn't be a crappy brick ranch. I almost died when I saw the new Bauer house. |
