Oh and how WEIRD is it that Russell Brand is starring in a HUGE American movie soon? ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall"). I saw an ET segment with Kristen Bell and he was sitting next to her and I did a double take. "Russell?"

I'm about 5 minutes into the Apprentice UK's "Worst Decisions Ever" special and already Vanessa Feltz and Brian Sewell have chimed in.

June 5th? Thats so far away.
I really hope the male cast this season is amazing, one great character after another because if one is destined to win, he may as well be awesome. The funny part about BB6 is in the original cast of the 7 men, 6 of them were really good characters, whether you liked them or not they brought entertainment of some sort, and the one who wins was fucking Anthony, the only male dullard they cast. |

No I haven't but I never was one for the radio. It wakes me up in the morning for a about 2 minutes at most and that's it. I don't drive anywhere
so I never have another chance to listen. Good for him.
June 5th seems like an eternity away especially with BBAU starting in just a few weeks. |

I have high hopes for this season. They went in the right direction with hijack I hope they learned from that as they head into the ninth season (minus doing
the finale inside the house...). Oh that Chanelle video...makes me cringe. Speaking of cringe...any twin update?

One source told the Daily Star: "Last year was a success. We had superbitch Charley, the Ziggy and Chanelle romance, the sexy 'Samanda' twins and of course dopey Brian who ended up winning. But that was last summer. The new show is what matters. Big Brother 9 is make or break."WTF? Talk about P.R. spinning The show is just oversaturated for the average Brit. It is on all the time and with longer regular seasons and then the celeb seasons, the novelty has worn off. The show will never be a ratings bonanza anymore, it will pull decent demos for what matters (18-49). I always said the longer seasons and celeb versions were going to eventually be overkill. It wasn't Jade Goody that did it, although it sped it up a bit. As long as they can get sponsors and the demo, then the show will remain on air and it still has some clout in popular Brit culture.

Don't they have a deal to air 3 more BBs including 9?

I think so CP, but not totally sure. I think it was until 2010? So that would make sense. I think as long as they get good demos for the 18-49 decent enough
to keep their big sponsors, then the show will continue. Barring any racial scandals.
They might end it in a few years then re-emerge the show in 5-10 years with a "BIG BROTHER IS BACK!!" kinda like the Spice Girls reunion thing. I don't think it will ever go away totally, it's too ingrained (sp?) in popular Brit culture, not like in the U.S. that if BB was cancelled, the average person wouldn't even notice. |

Yeah, the current deal is up to 2010 (BB11) and the celeb editions if there are gonna be any more.
June 5th is ages away. Why has it been pushed back to June? |

To avoid directly competing with "Britain's Got Talent".

I don't understand why BGT is so popular. Do they not get enough of these ITV talent shows from the other crappy ones?

I'm still in disbelief that Emilia got 2nd and Amy got 3rd...

Ugh don't mention that. Ruined a fantastic series.
I don't understand the appeal of any talent show including Idol. Apparently that's JUST me ;) Hrmm I just realized that BBUK has always been pretty refreshingly free of religious zealots a la BB9's Natalie (and Team Christ). I wonder why that is. Cultural thing or just a casting thing? |

Finally got down to the winners week for BB Hijack. Whose bright idea was it to schedule a performance for Victor and Emilia like a day after they got out of
the house? The entire family annoys me. Poor Emilia being told she was overweight...any thought that Victor loss some muscle while he was in there?
Sewell's comments during Calista's segment was hilarious. And all of these people in every season who think they can have a music career...it is really cringe worthy. Geez Liam you have got to be kidding me.

I'm getting a kick out of seeing Russell in the press promoting FSM! He's been on a lot of shows and I've seen his pic on celeb blogs and it's surreal. It's cool that he's in a movie with Veronica Mars, even though the movie otherwise doesn't appeal to me. |

Craig Phillips's BB winnings donee dies
The girl to whom Craig Phillips donated his Big Brother prize money has died. Joanne Harris, 25, passed away in hospital on Sunday after contracting an infection. Phillips entered the first series of the show in 2000 to raise cash for Harris, his best friend's niece, who had Down's syndrome. He put his £70,000 prize money towards paying for her to undergo a heart and lung transplant in the US. Her mum Marion told the Shropshire Star: "She brought so much joy to so many people and did so much to show that people with disabilities can lead very full lives." At Christmas 2000, Harris appeared in the video for Phillips's charity single 'At This Time of Year', which raised more than £40,000 for the Down's Syndrome Association. Phillips, a self-employed builder before entering the house, went on to open a construction training centre and has presented more than 700 DIY-related shows for various channels. |
