Yeah, because Giles has a ton of AB's in his career at Shea. I read on a Mets mb the Red Sox claimed him. Giles splits away from petco: .316 ba .405 obp .854 ops He doesn't hit for power anymore but he'd be a good fit hitting in the #2 hole. Considering what the Mets currently have in their OF and the unknown status of Church, it's a no brainer.

Mets actually gave God some run support, meager as it is. To date, God has 10 quality starts without a win to show for it.

No way I'd give up him or Evans, but I wouldn't mind trading Carp or maybe Parnell for Giles. King Johan the Great with another ace-like performance. Considering he hasn't thrown 100 pitches yet, Jerry better let him start the 8th.
