Great thread title! To get the ball rolling, I made a list of what I think are the Likely Song candidates:
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1968) Any Dream Will Do Close Every Door (tho this may be too somber and Jewey for AI) Jesus Christ Superstar (1970) I think only the Yvonne Elliman songs are AI friendly: I Don't Know How To Love Him Everything's All Right (but this has Jesus and Judas singing in it too) Jeeves (1975) (not well known so maybe none) Half A Moment probably is the most famous and sweetest Evita (1976) Don't Cry For Me Argentina High Flying Adored You Must Love Me from the movie version would be great I also think they could use I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You and Another Suitcase, Another Hall. And some guy singing "Oh What A Circus" also would work. Tell Me on a Sunday (1979) Tell Me On A Sunday (the song) is the clear winner here -- for a girl I also like "Take That Look Off Your Face" and "Capped Teeth and Caesar Salad" Cats (1981) Yuck. Only one song would work: Memory Starlight Express (1984) -- don't know, never saw it The Phantom of the Opera (1986) Angel of Music Think of Me The Music of the Night All I Ask Of You Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again Maybe one of the guys could pull of The Point Of No Return Aspects of Love (1989) Didn't see it, all I know is Love Changes Everything Sunset Boulevard (1993) As If We Never Said Goodbye With One Look (both would be great AI songs) These last ones I never saw so someone needs to help out with these: Whistle Down the Wind (1996) I know Boyzone's version of No Matter What -- a good song for Jason maybe The Beautiful Game (2000) Has some nice ballads you can hear on YouTube: God's Own Country, Our Kind Of Love Bombay Dreams (2002) - nothin The Woman in White (2004) - I Believe My Heart, but it is pretty corny |

The song Whistle Down The Wind would be a good choice for Carly. Tina Arena did a great version of it and they have a similar sound.
Brooke could do a great job with I Don't Know How to Love Him .

Ohh - I hope one of the girl (but not the screaming one) does Tell Me On a Sunday!
BTW - has anyone noticed that Any Dream Will Do from Joseph and the ATD is the same musically as "Ripple" by Grateful Dead? |

I will kill any of the contestants who dares to touch "Music of the Night". Seriously, it would be an Anthony Federov moment with the sound of
music.
I think "Wishing you were there" would be a decent choice for Ramiele. |

I didn't get that at first - I just listened to it now...HE HAS TO SING THAT. Too bad David H. and Danny aren't there anymore to
coreograph his performance. Maybe Paula can help.

Again," I could actually see Ramiele pulling that off.
Do we know WHEN they'll be doing his songs?

It's going to be a train wreck unless he's the celebrity mentor later on when there are only 5 contestants left or so and they can sing a full
version of a song. Otherwise, they have to sing the 90-second rendition of the songs and all of his songs aren't going to translate well into a 90-second
sampling. Just the chorus of "Memory" is longer than 90 seconds.

The song Whistle Down The Wind would be a good choice for Carly. Tina Arena did a great version of it and they have a similar sound.I went to hear it on YouTube and you are SO RIGHT! This is definitely a Carly "Blackbird" moment..... Here is Tina singing it: |

^Isn't Starlight Express the one where everybody's on roller skates? Whoever sings that better do it on skates, otherwise it's too boring for
words.
