I'm such a bad gay...take my card away and revoke my membership in the candle of the month club...I don't know any of ALW's songs...
And are we sure they're going to be singing songs from just his shows...or broadway in general?!?!? |

Wow, not posting in the Survivor Edgic thread - what's wrong with me?
Not sure if it was in Tell Me On A Sunday, or just the re-positioned Song & Dance, but I'd love to hear Come Back With The Same Look In Your Eyes. You could do it straight or revamp it easily, the lyrics supply the emotion but it's wistfully hopeful and not too sappy or maudlin. Michael |

In the 1970's movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar, Mary Magdalene who sang I Don't Know How I Love Him, was done by Yvonne Elliman. Yvonne is from Hawaii.... a perfect song choice for Aloha Kitty V2.0

There is no way I wouldn't sing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" for this theme.
I will be severely disappointed if I don't hear this tune on ALW night. |

Agreeance with Neontetra67. Don't Cry For Me Argentina is not only perfect for Carly's voice, but it would her a chance for her to use her
(unintentional) cold and nasty onstage persona to great advantage, instead of it being a deteriment to her singing as it has been so far.

Isn't almost all of that song high soprano head voice? Ramiele's a belter and her lower register is far and away the best part of her range. That would be a TERRIBLE song choice for her. Anything from "Phantom" would be... |

And are we sure they're going to be singing songs from just his shows...or broadway in general?!?!?If ALW is going to be there, it has to be all his songs. And since they're marketing it as ALW night, I feel pretty certain it is all his songs even if he isn't there. He probably will be plugging some 'compilations' CD of his stuff that just came out -- like Tony Bennett and Queen did (and many others). |

FYI: inserting youtubes causes question marks to appear in my text -- I don't know why, but that's why you see them
Kristy Lee Cook would do a stellar rendition of Jesus Must Die This is so funny I almost shot coffee out my nose. Everytime I meet someone with a really, really low voice, in my head I hear "Oh Caiaphas, the council waits for you . . . . " That's just as clever as Archie singing: "You're not decorating as girl for a night on the town; and I'm not a second-rate queen getting kicks with a crown. . . ." |

I imagine he'll be plugging the sequel to Phantom he's doing right now.

Kristy Lee Cook would do a stellar rendition of Jesus Must Die That's not the same as "King Herod's Song" is it? I'd worship anybody with the balls to sing that one. "Prove to me that you're no fool. Walk across my swimming pool." "Come on, king of the Jews!" I would like to hear somebody do "Another Suitcase in Another Hall", but I don't know who would do a good job with it. Maybe Syesha? She's more likely to be able to 'act' it than the others. Maybe Brooke should do "Goodnight and Thank You". That would tarnish her squeeky clean image... |

I really hope we get one of the big ballads from Sunset Blvd. |

I'm confused about the order of weeks. Isn't this coming week Andrew Lloyd Webber night, to be followed by (respectively), Mariah Carey night, Idol
Gives Back night (inspirational songs), and Rap night? Some people seem to be saying Mariah Carey or Idol Gives back is the one coming up.

I have a thread explaining the order this week and what the shows are. It's not Mariah week or ALW week, it's inspirational/Idol Gives
back/elimination.

Bombay Dreams is ALW? I saw that and didn't even know. I feel really stupid for that.
I think Jesus Christ Superstar has many songs that could be used. I could see David Cook doing Superstar. Kristy Lee Cook would do a stellar rendition of Jesus Must Die I love Tell me on a Sunday, so it would be great to hear someone do it but I don't really know if it right for anyone except David A. |

Webber produced Bombay Dreams. He didn't write the score for it, so he kinda sorta did it, but I don't count it. (I had forgotten he was part of that
show too).
So, we still haven't figured out when this is right? |
