I agree with them. Survivor: Africa was too dry with no water around. There is plenty of coastline and rivers in Africa. Some lakes too. I think a mainland
season in Africa would be a good idea. Plus, it would be close to Madagascar, so they could do that for the fall season.

In regards to India being crowded, isn't it the same situation with China?
They're not going to be located in the cities. It's still a big country, I'm sure they could find a national park somewhere to take over for a few months (ala Guatemala etc). |

Just spec: I've always thought that West Africa could work. My daughter backpacked around there for two months a couple of years ago. There are
beautiful beaches, nice water, resorts (often owned by Germans). It's close to Spain so Europeans go there on vacation. The local people dress in
traditional clothes. There are good wildlife parks, plenty of culture. I was surprised to hear that a friend of mine is stopping in two West African ports on
a cruise she's taking this spring. So, it has the right combo of culture and color and infrastructure. Just a thought.

If they wanted a dry location in Africa that also had some access to water, they could go somewhere in Egypt, and theme if off their culture. I know
Egypt's already been said, but I'm just restating it in the Africa discussion.

Sole Survivor Genius wrote: Yes I do watch TAR and yes, I have been to India. Obviously you guys have not been to Jaipur. The Taj being in the middle of town is a gross overstatement. The town it is located in, Agra, is a tourist hub and the government keeps a strict control over the population of people and cars there to prevent corrosion of the Taj Mahal due to carbon monoxide (which is bad for marble). The Taj is surrounded by a huge forest acting as a green buffer zone. Yes, while the Taj may be crowded, it would serve as a good reward and its not like Survivor hasn't filmed in places which are crowded before. On diseases, I'm surprised that I haven't seen any mentioned for China which has had a few food-related scandals itself. Paus (the white bread with stuffing) have been filmed to be made with cardboard and the latest food scare was dumplings causing poisoning when exported to Japan leaving a 5 year old girl in critical condition. During the time I spent in India, I didn't fall ill at all. If the production crew obtains mineral water for themselves and ousted contestants, water should not be a problem. They have their own kitchen so food hygiene should not be an issue. As for the castaways, whenever they're out there, they're drinking whatever water they boil which should not be any different from any other season. |

I remember her talking about The Gambia and Senegal. She also spent a month or so in Morocco on another adventure. Her friend was in the Peace Corps in Togo,
which is also in West Africa. I'm not sure of the political climate right now. A couple of years back, there was rioting in The Ivory Coast.
I'm just speculating, as I said. |

What about Ireland, their history is pretty twist. The Great Famine... IRA vs British... Gaelic.. The possibilities are endless.

I really hope it is not Africa!!!! I am sorry but I fear that if they ever do a season in Africa, the feel of that season would be all dry and
non-jungleish! I really liked China in that it had a monsoon feeling to it! It rained constantly....

I wouldn't say that the Taj would be an extremely difficult place to film in, but it wouldn't be easy either. I went there at the end of August. It
wasn't that packed really.
That's what it was like towards the end of August. The lawn and pathways in the gardens are mostly free. You can see that the people around the Taj structure itself are just in front of the entrance to the interior. Besides, I'm not entirely sure that the government would let SEG film inside of the structure itself. The outside maybe, the inside might get a little tricky. If you're talking about filming on the inside of the Taj, then that's different. The inside can be packed as I remember, and we were not allowed to photograph inside there. |

I am SO happy that we might get another African season. It's the epitome of the exotic, wild and primal and it's a shame they've only gone once in
16 seasons. Severely underrepresented. Anywhere would be awesome, there are so many different environments to choose from. I wouldn't even mind seeing
the savannah again, except maybe this time in a lusher area, like South Africa.

I'm an NZer and would love to see Survivor New Zealand- I think it'd be a cross between Survivor Australia (colonial theme),Cook Islands (polynesian culture) and Guatemala (forest dwelling less the temples?). Btw cook islands are a protectorate of NZ but is 4 hrs distance by plane. To do survivor NZ they'd have to do it in the summer as I think it'd be too cold in winter and I think MB said in past that NZ as too cold a locale.
Also I wonder if there were an isolated enough location here.
NZ cheap ass tv isn't screening the new fans vs favs. series live. Where can I get hold of episodes of this upcoming series as it screens? |

Well, torrents are usually available a few hours after each episode airs. That's probably your best bet.

A return to Africa would be fantastic. I always hated the fact that S3 was called Survivor: Africa just because it sort of closed the possibility of a return
to the continent but A) they obviously don't have a problem with return locations and B) they probably weren't counting on having more than six or
eight seasons to find locations for, so I guess it wasn't a concern.
I just hope they get a strong cast for it; maybe it's just me but they use islands so much that a lame cast on an island season doesn't seem as disappointing as if a great location is wasted on a crappy cast. And wishful thinking that they release Africa on DVD to coincide with it. |

Yea, but some parts of africa are really dangerous... Lord knows Nigeria is the asshole of the world when it comes to crime, and now in other parts they are
having tribal warfare where entire villages are being burned down.
