It just sucks that Mariah is wasted on a season that doesn't have great divas and belters (maybe Carly will do well though).

This is going to be such a trainwreck. I can't believe they're actually going to do Mariah songs. I thought they were going to do 90's songs or
something. Can't wait for Simon and Randy to moan and whine about the song choices and arrangements. Oh the horror this will be!

I agree. Brooke/Jason are in danger of going next week based on the theme.
I think KKK can still do well and the public is voting this year on week to week performances, if a few others tank and she does ok, she's safe. I just hope someone does "Touch My Body". |

I dunno about Brooke and Jason being sure-fire misses for Mariah week, I could see them getting the "you're so original/you made it your
own!!11!1" compliments from the judges if they're clever with their choices.

Brooke and Jason have to make really good choices and change them up well enough to be able to have a shot. I'm not sure they can unless someone else has
already done a folky-cover of a Mariah song. It seems like it would be hard to change up in that direction yourself because it would be so different. I can see
both of them crashing hard with the theme.
I think Kristy will do fine, at least better than those two. Even though she's Country I actually think she could benefit from singing it straight and not trying to make it a Country song deliberately. She can sing. I want my potato to do "Hero." |

I'm guessing that the people that are expected to do well with this theme won't and vice versa. That's how it usually rolls. (i.e. Bucky on Stevie

Usually that's probably how it goes down but this is a weird theme. It's really only logical to guess that people with good technical vocal ability
will do well on Mariah Carey night.
