Anyone else remember this show? I loved it, but sadly it was cancelled during the first season (shocking, I'm sure). In any event, it's coming to DVD
this summer. Woohoo!

They made Huntress a powered Catwoman "Black Canary" was boring as hell, plus they gave her psychic powers |

I watched this. It sucked a lot. Dina Meyer and Ashley Scott were good to watch though. Thank god they ditched Ashley Scott's horrible costume in the pilot
and gave her normal clothes after that. The writing still made it unwatchable.
Laeta Kalogridis has had a bad track record for bringing this type of material to the screen. First Birds of Prey and then the abominable Bionic Woman. I think she was taken off Bionic Woman before the first episode came out but the damage was obviously done. |

They didn't give it much of a chance. Ashley Scott was sexy good, but the Canary chick was too underdefined. There was some promising stuff with Mia Sara
as Harley Quinn but that never materialized.
The flashbacks with Dina Meyer in the Batgirl costume were embarassing to watch though. They made the 60's series look like the Dark Knight they were so cheap and campy looking. |

It wasn't the Birds of Prey I wanted from reading the comic book, but I still think it was a pretty good show. Dina Meyer was perfectly cast as Oracle.
It really wasn't given a chance, if I remember right, the show debuted kind of at a bad time because WB was about to turn into CW or something and they
didn't want a show that "dark". Bleah.
