Fox has announced So You Think You Can Dance's fourth season will premiere with a two-hour broadcast on Thursday, May 22 at 8PM ET/PT. After its premiere, So You Think You Can Dance 4 will continue with another two-hour broadcast on Wednesday, May 28 at 8PM ET/PT on Fox. Following Fox's broadcast of So You Think You Can Dance 4's open auditions, the American Idol-like search for the country's top dancer will settle into a twice-weekly schedule in which two-hour performance shows will air on Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT and one-hour results shows will air Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT. Cat Deeley will return to host the show's fourth season, with Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy once again reprising their judging duties alongside choreographers who will serve as weekly guest judges. So You Think You Can Dance was created by Lythgoe and Simon Fuller and is produced by 19 Entertainment, Ltd. and Dick Clark Productions. It is executive-produced by Fuller, Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro. The producers are currently holding casting calls for So You Think You Can Dance's fourth season -- expanding their search from four cities to six, traveling to Dallas, Charleston, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Salt Lake City to find talented dancers who "best represent the rhythm of America." Those who spark interest during auditions will then be invited to call-backs where they will work with choreographers to determine the season's Top 20 dancers. Fox had already announced So You Think You Can Dance's fourth-season renewal prior to the show's August 2007 third-season finale broadcast. |

I'm SOOOOO excited. Wish I had thought to make the thread first, though, so I could change the title at will. So I heard a rumor that Wade, Shane, and Mia are not returning. Though whether that means as "jidges" or choreographers, or both, I'm not sure. I have no article link though, it's just being talked about quite a bit on the Fox message boards. |

Whhhhahatttt, no Shane or Wade?
I wish they could replace Brian Karatee or whatever, he shows up once in a blue moon for judging and barely choreographs the hip-hop routines anymore. Banshee Mary must never leave. <3 |

Like I said, just a rumor. I heard Shane was on one of the early auditions back in Januray, so not sure how accurate the report is. I'm cool with Mia leaving; she had two stellar pieces last year (Kameron/Lacey Top 20 "Dancing" and Danny/Neil Top 4 "Are You the One?"), but she also had some really bad ones (Cedric/Shauna Top 16, Neil/Lacey Top 8 [okay, I disliked it, even if that goes against the general consensus]) and wasn't a good judge at all. Wade was also so-so... he had some good stuff, but generally he's becoming very one-note with lots of similar pieces. And that Top 10 solo choreography he did was... yeah. I will miss Shane, though. Definitely the best hip-hop choreographer, and he's generally a pretty great judge. Hopefully the unsubstantiated rumor will prove to be naught... |

Saw the commercial during American Idol tonight and I am already excited. I too love Kat's pronunciation of "jidges" and use her version of that
word in everyday life. My family thinks I'm weird for saying the word like that, but who cares. Mary Murphy has to be there as a judge and that is the only
person that I will really have to see on this next season. Everytime I think of Mary Murphy I think of "The Mary Murphy Alarm Clock" segment that
they had on The Soup. I like Shane and Wade as choreographers, but I would still watch the show if they weren't on it anymore.

Lacey was sitting behind Simon and Paula on tonight's American Idol. I didn't see anyone else from the show there.

Wade choreographed too much last season and exposed his weaknesses, I can't blame him for taking a break. Shane's best choreography was in the first
season.

Never watched this show, but the end of that video was hilarious. I might have to start watching just for the host!

<3 Cat and her accent. She's my favorite live-show reality host because she doesn't take it too seriously, doesn't make the show about her and
actually seems to like the contestants, jidges, etc. I'm glad she's back.

I'd miss Wade's choreography. I'd be fine without Mia or Shane.

I love Mia.. ever since she said to the kid that asked how to move his hand, 'move it humanly' I have been a fan and I loved her choreo and the way
she's uncensored.
Shane I can do w/o although would that mean more Carraty and those East Coast shitsters? Please no. Wade owns all. Love Toasty Oreo. D Frie was hardly on last season..hope he comes back. Dorianna can go suck it w/ her disco. Oh and I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know what Sabra's done since the show? She won the money but has she landed any good gigs?

doing dance workshops with Kameron, but no big gigs that I've heard of. Didn't she perform for the Fox New Year's Eve special with a few other
SYTYCD alumni?
Make sure to catch previous SYTYCD'ers on Idol Gives Back tonight. I *think* they're doing the opening number (show starts at 7:30pm on Fox). I really hope so, because I'm not sitting through the entire thing to watch them do just one dance number. If all three of Mia, Shane and Wade disappear this year, I'm really hoping that Mandy Moore gets to judge. She had spectacular pieces last season and
really put herself on the map as one of the top choreographers.
