Am I the only one who REALLY thought the old Mary who could actually judge came back tonight (the only routine I thought she was wrong with was the krump). Mia was just a cunt (Will carrying Jessica), Nigel's just a pervy idiot (I'm going to ignore the last 16 bars, since your name isn't Matt or Jessica, in which case I would have said "I can't really praise the rest of the routine because of the last 16 bars. I'll I can focus on now is the bad."). Mary was actually pretty great tonight. She was critical without being a total bitch, and she was complementary without seeming like an idiot. Some of her comments were very well explained and unique, too. The comment about Will's jacket even causing technical problems was something the other judges could only dream of. Some people may see it as making excuses for will, but she did scold his footwork and frame. She just pointed out the the jacket didn't help matters.

Ranking: 1. Courtney/Gev and Mark Chelsie (for having two really good dances). 2. Josh/Katee (bollywood was great, and Katee was just lovely in the waltz). 4. Will and Jessica: great first dance, so-so second one. At least Mary harped on Will and Jessica, unlike ME-ME-ME-a.
5. Comfort and Thayne (I did think that the judges were a little hard on them tonight, but they weren't exactly excellent, either). 6). Twitch and Kherington: she wasn't even in sinc with Twitch when she was "doing well" with the krump. I admire Twitch actually making krump sorta work on the show (for once), but then their smooth tango was bad. They both sucked, and the concept seemed really clever until they ruined it.

Also, is anyone tired of people saying that the quickstep is an automatic "bottom 3" dance. I missed season one, but in season 2, Natalie and Musa danced a TERRIBLE quickstep and avoided the bottom 3. Travis and Donyelle danced an atrocious one, and Travis only ended up in the bottom 2 guys (only four men were left, so that hardly means anything), and Donyelle avoided the bottom entirely. Kameron and Lacey danced a great quickstep that kept them out of the bottom 3, and Pasha and Sabra danced a great quickstep that also kept them out from being in the bottom. I just checked, and in season 1, two quicksteps were done, and one landed Snow and Jamile in the bottom 3 (none were eliminated), and the other landed no one in the bottom.
This means that, so far, in 4 seasons, only 2 couples (Thayne and Chelsea and Snow and Jamile), have landed in the bottom 3 after dancing a quickstep, and only one PERSON (Chelsea), has gone home. Those are really good statistics, much better than disco, fox trot, and especially Dan Karate. That may change with Jess/Will tommorrow, but it's hard to use that as an indicator, considering they are almost guaranteed to be there by default (only courtney and gev might sneak into the top 3). The quickstep may be a kiss of death as far as judges comments go, but they are hardly anything to worry about when it comes to votes.

Does anyone find that the female dancers are starting to catch up to the men (Katee and Chelsie are starting to shine a lot more than before, where they used to be more overshadowed by their partners).
