OK, first I want to clear up/add on to some of the things that have been posted. The Mia group routine is for the performance show, not the results show. It's the last dance of the night. The judges commented on it afterward and they were in those costumes when lined up next to Cat at the very end. Also, even though we didn't see the past seasons favorites dance, we walked in when they were taking a big group photo with Nigel. From what I can remember, Mark & Chelsie were both there, so I'm guessing they were in the number. Ryan from S2 was there & a platinum blond girl who I'm thinking was Snow was there also. (I was sitting up in the bleachers for the 2nd taping, so it was a little harder to see everyone.) I don't remember any more, but if I do I'll let you know. After the tape stopped rolling, all the past contestants (minus Mark & Chelsie & probably a couple others) started dancing around on the stage (there was house music playing). I'm sure it was filler for costume change or the like, but it was so fun. Dominic was his normal muggy self, going around the stage high-fiving all the girls. Ryan & Hok did some breaking/b-boying stuff that was really cool. Ivan brought out his video camera & was taping the audience; we all did the wave for him. Benji & Dmitry partner danced together; it was great seeing 2 guys not afraid of partnering each other. Other dancers did stuff too, but those were the highlights for me. Oh, also Gev did a brief solo- Yay!!

Twitch/Courtney: I thought it was a good routine. Not my favorite HH, but not the worst either; definitely better than last week's. Twitch was really good in it, but Courtney did well too. I thought that she kept up with him (definitely more than Chelsie did last week) and that Twitch didn't really outshine/out-dance her. There were actual HH movements in it & I think some isolation stuff. At the end, Twitch puts her on his head & spins her around hands-free. There was obvious set-up for that lift, not smooth at all; I knew it was coming at least 12 counts before it happened. To me, it looked like Courtney fell out of the lift (like fell off his head & onto his shoulder), but Twitch caught her & recovered. Now, it may have been chore'd like that, but it was just so awkward that I doubt it. Of course, none of the judges mentioned it. After the routine, Napolean didn't look too happy, but then he never usually does, so it's hard to tell what he thought of the dance. The judges loved it. They said it was a great way to start off the night- very energetic. I think Nigel talked about Twitch always brings humor into his pieces (when it's called for) & that's what he loves about Twitch (it was a running theme, so you guys better get used to it). I know they commented on Courtney, but I really can't remember. (The judges comments are kind of running together in my head). I really enjoyed this routine, but I don't think I'd say it was one of my favorites of the night.

Josh/Katee: I actually think Wade has done better. To me, the dance seemed more about emotion than anything else. There was definitely dancing in there, & good dancing at that, but it just didn't have the wow factor for me. It just wasn't a Hummingbird/Flower-caliber dance, which could have happened, b/c they are the same combo of dancers. There was definitely a lot of floor work; at one point they are side-by-side with their foreheads on the ground. There were some lifts too, but I don't remember any spectacular ones. The judges absolutely loved it!! They thought both were fantastic in it. Mary told them that when she made her prediction at the very beggining that they would both be in the final, she was right & that they both deserved to be there. Mandy talked about that forehead-on-the-ground part of the dance. Nigel again said that it's unbelieveable that Josh can be so great since he is an "untrained" dancer. One of them said that Josh can do anything. They all completely praised Katee & thought she was just wonderful in the dance. I seriously felt as if I was hearing a re-hash of what they said last week about these two. Personally, I thought that last week's contemp was better, but maybe when I get to actually see all of it, I'll feel differently. (Also, at this point in the competition, it shouldn't be surprising what the dancers can & can't do, so judges, please stop saying how surprised you are with certain dancers' ability.) Oh, Josh looked like he was about to fall over during the critiques. If he had to stand there one more minute, he probably would have.

Courtney/Katee: I think I pretty much said what I felt in my last post. Kind of a waste of the girls' talent & not worthy of them. I think they did the best with what they had to work with, but they deserved so much better. The dance parts were pretty good, but overall, the dance was kind of boring for me. The judges really kind of got on Courtney in this one. Mandy said that she needed to work on her feet & lines b/c Katee's were better; Katee just has the most beautiful lines (sarcasm mine). Can't remember what Mary said. Nigel said that he was worried in one part of the dance that Court wouldn't catch her parasol 'cuz she just barely caught it, but I didn't see that part. I actually thought in one part that Court did a better job of letting her parasol go-it seemed to go higher or be further out of her hand than Katee's. For me, I would rather see the risk of possibly not catching it than have someone play it safe & only let it go a little, but YMMV. I felt so bad for Court during the critiques because the judges were basically gushing over Katee & saying that she was better, just a little bit but still better, than Courtney. This was probably one of my least favorite dances of the night.

Josh/Twitch: I was really hoping for a HH for these two, but this dance was just as good if not better than what a HH could have been. It was just FANTASTIC!! So much energy & athleticism on display. They both did very well in it & I liked being able to compare them in something that was foreign (hee!) to both of them. Twitch did a lot of the floor work sections of the dance, but Josh had some floor work as well. When Twitch was on the floor, Josh was doing the jumps & leaps that were just amazing. His Russians just get so much height! He also did lots of turns; at one point he was either doing fouettes or turns a la second, can't remember which (pretty sure it was fouettes). The judges absolutely LOVED it; they were all gushing over the dance. Nothing negative was said. Nigel said something about how great it was that this show was bringing world dance to the American public (yes, Nigel, we know you love to pat yourself on the back). Nigel told Twitch he didn't know why he was doing most of the floor work b/c Josh was shorter & Josh responded that the reason was that he (Josh) could jump better than Twitch. This started off a mini-competition of jumps & flips where Twitch finally had to concede defeat. It was really fun!! IMO, this was the best dance by far of the night & my absolute favorite.
