I'm loving this show also and I agree with the Artist love. He's so expressive and his confessionals crack me up. Guy's got a good head on his shoulders. I also can't stand serious judge -- he reminds me of Ed Norton's character in "American Psycho."

I do not share your Artist love. He's got a big heart, yes, but of the four that remain he lacks experience.
I wonder if the three adopters that signed up to adopt the three dogs actually followed through. I would think you'd want to get them screened and taking the dog home ASAP, even the same day if at all possible. I would only let Jonathan or Kathleen groom my dogs. I've felt that way from the beginning. I cannot fault Kathleen for not picking the Shih Tzu to groom. It's a competition and she knew little Teddy was going to be a tough sell with the scarring left behind from all his mats. Poor little thing. Kathleen isn't much of a personality, but I'm not really looking for that in a groomer. I want my dog to look good, dammit. I pay $120 to get both my dogs done, and that's before tip! |

carboy, I'm with you on Kathleen being the best. and she is a loving groomer. I watched her struggle over the issue about picking Teddy. I saw her
wanting to win. I see Artist not being the best and wanting to take the challenge and do what he can to help the poor little thing. he was so totally screwed
when they put the cone on the dog. NO ONE would pick that dog after that. regardless of how temporary it was, no one was going to adopt the dog with that
(well, maybe me - and then I would hunt artist down forever to groom him).
but it was the way he spoke up on giving that family the other option, just to make A dog got adopted that made me love him, even if it meant him losing. I am agreeing with you on the adoption issue. how many families qualified - according to that agency's standards. ellen degeneres comes to mind. so it couldn't really be a fair elemination challenge. maybe they were gonna keep all 4 to begin with. or if was based on who got the most folks in, artist won as far as I could tell, but no one wanted his dog once they saw the poor thing scratching like crazy with a cone. when he referred that little girl on to gertrude and gave the other guy "a leg up" spoke volumes about him. I truly don't know if it was going to be a non-elmination challenge just based on what they had to deal with or if the judges changed their mind once they saw how artist handled the whole thing, and just could not vote him off after that. it worked out great. kathleen deserved to win, but artist did not deserve to go home. if artist is out of the dog house, it should be on a true talent challenge. |

I'd choose Artist over Kathleen to groom my dogs, anyday. But then, I don't own dogs who are high maintenance for groomer either, so I guess that
makes a difference. I find Kathleen cold and talented and I would probably only take my dogs to her once and not return. I've no doubt she's talented
and it's obvious she gets along fine with dogs - I just don't like her. And I don't like the other front runner either - I can't remember his
name. Sniffy little man. Jorge makes me laugh and Artist was my favorite before this weekend's show, where he became the hands down top dog.

disappointed. It'd be nice to have someone like that finally win one of these things for once though. He's managing to be hilarious, likable, and

Jonathan HATE. He's such a jackass, and I'm pretty sure he'll get 2nd since he's being painted as somewhat of a villain being set up for a fall. Kathleen is a boring ice queen. It sucks that they're the two most talented because they're completely unlikable and either of them winning would be underwhelming. For being about dog grooming, this show is surprisingly entertaining and full of drama. The only bad thing is the horrible panel of judges who don't even really critique anything, making the "tribal council" of this show the most boring part. "So here's Jasper's dog!" *vacant stares from the judges* *dramatic music* *more staring* The best part was the Malissa psychoness that was cut too short. And all of the many hilarious final words from the losers: Random early boot guy: "ARGH THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS *SOBS* PLEASE CAN WE DO THIS ANOTHER TIME? *PUTS HAND IN CAMERA*" Amber: "oh btw I'm pregnant!" Malissa: "Wait.....there are five senses? OMG!" |

Jonathan the best in show tonight. Not in my book. Bad clip, late for an appointment and damage to the van. It appears the fix is in for Jonathan. Kathleen and
Artist had the more difficult assignments. Too bad the client who allowed her dog's nails to grow so long that they curled under was not understanding. I
changed my mind about Kathleen's attitude after the past couple of shows. She showed generosity and grace. Still rooting for Artist and his big heart.

Artist should have gone. He is the one who cut the dog. He should have told the owner. BULL-SHIT that she went home because she didn't bring the Kwik-Stop. She came up with an alternative. Oh well. |

I love Artist. but Kathleen has proven time and time again that she is a superior groomer. if there was a jonathan/artist mix, that would be perfection.

I'm thinking they want to help out someone like Artist who is so enthusiastic, great with the animals, and breaking boundries by being a young black man
who loves grooming dogs. He works in South Central and has to groom 10 dogs a day to cover his bills.
With a mobile service he could travel to pampered pooches homes and overcharge those bitches. Maybe they don't want an old, jaded groomer to win. I realize it's to win "Groomer of the Year", but by whoose standards? This is the same fucking show that used a dog psychic to judge a competition. They can pretty much interpret the rules any way they want, and Artist would be a popular win, increasing chances of a renewal for next season. Plus I really want him to win. |

I am a bitch with two pampered dogs and I sure as hell do not want tank-top-wearing "Artist" coming anywhere near my house. I would much rather prefer the old, jaded groomer to come over and overcharge me, anytime.

Well I'd like ot think he'd spruce it up a notch to go to peoples homes, surly he would get a consult with a business advisor. OTOH, he may be just the
guy for the hipster crowd, who knows?
I just love his enthusiasm and his obvious love for the animals. I worked around many groomers when I was a Vet Tech and believe me, they are not all the tender hearted soles you think they are. |

Yeah, this is first and foremost a reality show. About grooming dogs. I don't understand why anyone would care THAT much about the skill level. Just
don't take your dogs to them. ^_^
Kathleen's boot was defo shocking. I thought for sure Artist was a goner, leaving us with the worst possible final 3 personality-wise. With that said, Artist ftw! He's now been in the bottom two four times but keeps getting through with his winning personality. <3 |

this is one of the better reality shows. especially now that top chef is over. I like it more than the next foodtv star. Artist is just class and I'm
happy he has done so well. talent wise, Jonathan should win. I liked Kathleen and I miss Jasper.
