I have *never* said or even implied that I think religious people are dumb. I think creationists are dumb. They are a sub-species who I do not lump in with the average religious person. Religious beliefs should have nothing to do with science. The problem with creationists is that there are vast amounts of scientific data that contradict their BELIEFS, and NO SCIENTIFIC SUPPORT for their BELIEFS, and yet they ignore this totally and promote the idea that religion should be taught in science class. That's a no-no. The world was NOT created 6000 years ago, and anyone who believes it was is...yes...ignorant. You are so "scientific". Really, mom? Are you a creationist? Do tell.

And while I don't generally care about the VP, it matters slightly more considering McCain's age, history of cancer, and the fact that his ability to run for a 2nd term seems doubtful. She just seems like such a lightweight considering the higher risk of her ascending to the presidency. McCain sure did flip flop on the experience argument. Its kinda like Harriet Miers being considered as a Supreme Court nominee.

Vanessa Williams has just won Miss America in 1983, so ~15 states sent Black delegates the next year. Of course after the 'scandal', there were ZERO black state contestants in 1985 or 1986. Maryline lives in Atlanta now - I heard her sing at a fundraiser a couple months ago. Very nice and talented lady.
