Apparently she was invited to the show, so it wasn't a complete surprise that she would be good. Look for interviews with her at YouTube. The song posted above was recorded 10 years ago for a CD for charity, btw. |

Okay--a Broadway baby checking in--my Mom called me about this whole Susan Boyle thing. She was over the top excited. I kind of blew it off. When I finally
watched the clips--wow. Not a song that can be sung easily while keeping a great tone and maintaining power. Honestly though? I thought the hype was a bit
overdone due to the surprise factor.
And then I listened to that Cry Me A River clip. OMG, are you effing kidding me? There are people who train forever who will never sing that subtly, that on key, with such a gorgeous tone, that perfectly. You don't hear the absolute beauty of her voice in the you tubes of Britain's Got Talent. Fantastic. Bloody fantastic. And as a mom, I am pissed at Susan's mom. Because, reading between the lines, her mom must have held her back all of these years. And now that she is dead, Susan is going for her own dream. Good for her. Bravo. Good for her.

I've been over at YouTube all day listening to all the different performances of "I Dreamed A Dream" I could find. And to be honest, I think Susan's rendition is the best one ever. |

I did the same thing. Her's has the best tone of the bunch. There was one of Elaine Page singing it live, and live for live, Susan's was better.
