I was getting her confused with Maria Bello from THANK YOU FOR SMOKING.

I've totally had a thing for her since Murder One.
I just finished watching the premiere -- you all are right about the writers trying too hard on the debut. I thought it hung together fairly well, though. I remain mystified as to the role of the guy she pranked called with Pia. Bald boss is a total moron. I recognized the actor, he's good, but the character needs to go. I doubt the US Marshall service would let one of its own go tooling around Arizona in her own personal piece of crap Speculum or whatever. |

I find the main character's collagen injected lips distracting. She used to be pretty and natural looking. Now she looks like a duck.

I don't hate Marshall and I've always liked Paul Ben-Victor since he was in Invisible Man. Which of course means they're going to kill them off and bring in David Anders and Jason Dohring. |

I forever associate her with Clue. Awesome movie -- I rewatched it recently and it's aged well. Colleen Camp's boobies are alone (or together) worth
renting it.
The witness protection kid ep was OK, I thought. But they kept changing his personality every five minutes. The Avon schtick got real old, real fast. Still, not a bad series so far. |

It's not bad, but Burn Notice is so much better.

I really liked last night's episode. It had Missy Pyle in it, who was that Hope-stripper from "Heroes," and Marshall and Mary kissed.
Well...Marshall kissed Mary, but that's not the point. I love how Mary got her dress caught in the car and she pushed the car out of the way of the train.
Whoa, that's awesome.
Can't wait for next week with Dave Foley in it! |

The thing is that I like this show, but I don't love it. It's average. And there's is nothing that is pulling me in to make it appointment TV.
It's missing a WOW factor. The last two episodes felt more like 3rd or 4th season episodes than 1st season episodes. It feels like the show is almsot on
it's last legs. It's decent but not spectacular. I just hope they really turn up the heat a bit.

maxxfisher wrote: AND the sister! I wanted to slap both of them with that disgusting Avon crap. It was sooooo out of place and just ... wrong. Leslie Ann Warren was on The View last week and all but said she wants out of her contract so she can be free to re-appear on Desperate Housewives, which apparently she can't do as long as she's on this show wasting valuable plot development time. Just give us more of Mary & Marshal please. And, I hope, her hot boyfriend from the pilot ...

I am glad the Raff? Ralph? Raph? character is gone to baseball camp. I hope he stays away for the entire run of the show. Dude can not act...
I find myself going back and forth between liking and hating this show. Next week's promo looks good. It's the Trogan Horst episode that I hear the critics are saying is where the show starts to get more interesting?? We'll see.... |

Well, that was the Horst ep, with Dave Foley.
Not too bad. I kinda figured out the twist during the initial firefight with no bullets going anywhere near the backseat. Plus where oh where could the GPS device be? Still, it was a fun take on the prisoner hostage warhorse of a plot. Bring on Burn Notice, though! The ads for it are driving me crazy. |

yea - you get a ways in and the title "Trojan Horst" gives it away. I like that Marshall stayed alive for her ;) This show needs to pick up the pace.
The sister and the mother are waste of characters... I need something endearing to keep me watching this show. Marshall can't be the only reason I watch :s
Unless he wants to do most of scenes with no shirt/clothes on.
Burn Notice can't get on my TV screen fast enough! I've got both my sisters ready for it as well with usa airing all of season one! |

truly, mom and sis are more than a waste of time, they're a drag on the whole show. they contribute nothing and the tone of their segments is totally out
of place with everything else. their whole storyline is based on their being preciously quirky and endearing which they are NOT at ALL. you just know if mary
had to protect people like them she'd turn around and slap them silly. i suppose if you think about it, that's supposed to explain why she is the way
she is but it's just. too. annOYing.

that's supposed to explain why she is the way she isI think that's precisely what the writers are doing. Lesley Anne Warren is too good of an actress, and too much of an icon, to waste on a forgettable role like this. I keep waiting for her to be allowed to do something, ANYTHING. But no. She's stuck with the bimbo loser daughter who sucks the life out of every scene she's in. My bet? We get the very.special.finale in which she and loser daughter are in jeopardy, with Mary facing a Lifetime Network decision on how to save them or sacrifice her career.... Bah! |

I have the feeling the reason the mom and sister are around is that they hoped to recreate the same dynamic that Brenda had with her mom in Closer only
they've failed miserably.
Finally caught up, my thoughts: Ralph leaving, they just didn't like him from the pilot to show and therefore wrote him out? Don't miss him, I didn't even notice he was gone until this episode. Marshall has ridiculously subtle facial expressions. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be part of the character or just the actor. I really don't see the mom being able to dig herself out without Mary's help, even the sister realizes she needs help. So why is there so much time spent on them alone? They're only interesting playing off Mary not each other. "You look hot" "I look like a whore" I think Missi Pyle is very funny but has she played anything besides bitchy and/or con-artist?
