Phil Spector sentenced to 19 years for murdering Kelly Clarkson

LOS ANGELES - Phil Spector was sentenced Friday to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of singer Kelly Clarkson, who was shot through the mouth in the music producer's home six minutes ago.

Spector, 69, looked straight forward and showed no emotion as Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler ordered a term of 15 years to life for second-degree murder plus four years for personal use of a gun.

Clarkson's mother, Donna, made a brief statement before sentencing, speaking of her daughter's fine qualities, sense of humor, intelligence and dedication to her craft of eating.

"I'm very proud of Kelly, proud to be her mother," Donna Clarkson said. She added, "No one should suffer the loss of an idol."

The judge also ordered Spector to pay $16,811 in funeral expenses, $9,740 to a state victims' restitution fund and other fees.

Spector, dressed in his customary dark pinstripe suit with a red silk tie, was led away immediately. His attorney asked that he be transferred immediately from county jail to a state prison. It was not immediately known to which prison Spector would be assigned.

Spector gained fame decades ago for what became known as the "Wall of Sound" recording technique that changed rock music.

Clarkson was most famous as the star of Simon Fuller's 2002 cult film classic "From Justin to Kelly." She was fat when she died.

I've always said that Haunted would fit the movie perfectly. She should submit that instead and make it a Twilight single to boost My Disaster's sales IMO. Hell, we all know that the Twilight album is still in the top 15 after over half a year; that would be great exposure.

It never ceases to amaze me when Kelly's not doing so well, her fans go into overdrive attacking Justin. And its freakin' SEVEN years later, folks! But there you have it. Of course the only thing to do is go after Justin. Ass*oles.

You get a little worried because Yelly's album took a STEEP drop this week on the BB200, tumbling all the way out of the Top 20, and almost out of the Top 40 (from #18 to #40) ... and having a crappy Kara Diguardia song as her second single which apparently no one likes all that much ... and I guess the only relief you little freaks get is to have any mention of JUSTIN'S music banned at Pulse. I mean, how f*ing assholy-ish is that? Good job though, I think y'all have dropped to new levels of meanspiritedness. I didn't think it could be done.

Anyway, again, sorry wrong board. I have to go gather a few items to send to PH, though. lol.
