He's never been that great a strategist in my eyes. Throwing a challenge at the start of CI was an insanely moronic move. Did it end up hurting him in the end? No. But that doesn't absolve the fact that at the time it was a ridiculously moronic decision. And while creating a fake idol certainly was entertaining to me as a viewer, I woudln't necessarily say it was a good strategic move. After Eliza played the fake idol, everyone in the game knew Ozzy had the idol, which led to his blindside the next time. And even his physical abilities took a hit in Micronesia, the guy didn't win that many tribal challenges, and neither of the individual immunities. I don't put him in the top 20. Jenna - Likewise, not that impressed, at least from a strategic standpoint. Jenna proved that she was good at all sorts of challenges in Amazon, and she certainly deserves props for that. Her social game wasn't all that great in my eyes. Godly compared to Matt, but then, Matt might even lose to someone like Dreamz. She also lucked out tremendously in that the Tambaqui men were among the stupidest you'll ever find, if any of them had an ounce of brains, her biggest ally in the game would have been gone pre-merge and her position would have been severely compromised. I don't put her in the top 20. Aras - Aras is a well rounded player in my eyes. He wasn't the best physical player in his season (Terry), nor the best strategic player (Cirie), but did well enough to get by. He won the single immunity that he absolutely needed to win the game, and that's why he won it instead of Cirie. Top 20? Not sure. Danni- Tremendous social and strategic player. Rafe completely ran the game, then she swept in and stole it from underneath him. Made one big mistake in voting out Blake too early, but her other moves in the game more than make up for it. Top 20? Definately. Easily top 10, if not higher. Stephenie - Top 20? I'd say she's the bottom 20. Stephenie was a horrific, horrific player at this game. She's one of the biggest losers in the game's history, and had a ridiculously pathetic challenge record in both Palau and Guatemala. She is majorly responsible for Ulong's downfall since she was instrumental in Jolanda being voted out first. In Guatemala she was completely in power and played one of the worst post merge games of all time, willingly voting out every single person she could beat, even though none of those she voted out were threatening her position in the game at the time, or any time soon. She performed pathetically against the jury, performing so bad that she may have thrown away the chance for multiple jury votes doing so. Bottom 20 of all time. Bottom 5? Maybe. Boston Rob - Boston Rob plays so bad socially, he will probably never win this game, even if he played 15 to 20 times. He's just way too abrasive for his own good. A strong physical player, but that can only get you so far. Made a very, very bad strategic move in ASS by voting out Tom at F5 instead of F4, but other than that was a fairly good strategic player. Top 20? Very tough. He'd probably just miss it with me. Todd - Not much of a physical player, but Todd performed admirably strategically and did a great, great job when facing the jury. Definate top 20 player. Sandra - Did good with the "anyone but me" strategy, but Sandra made many big mistakes during the game. She never would have beaten Rupert, but wanted to go to F3 with him. She, Rupert and Christa made one of the worst strategic moves all time with their behavior towards Jon and Shawn after the outcasts twist. She screwed her best friend over with the fish thing. Her throw away vote for Jon could have completely screwed her entire side over had Lill voted with them that TC. Top 20? Probably not. Yauman - Very good strategic and social player. Very well rounded at the game, and performed better than expected in the challenges. Ultimately I think the car deal was a mistake though. Top 20? That's tough. If not in it, he's right on the cusp. Ethan - Very good social game, that's for sure. One of the better ones we've seen. Strategic? He relied far too heavily on Lex though, and completely threw away his chance at Brandon's vote. I am eternally grateful for him throwing the challenges to boot Silas though. One of our lesser winners Top 20? Maybe. Maybe not. Dunno. Rob C - Very good strategic player. One of the better ones out there. But he overplayed things a bit, which eventually led to his downfall. Had poor F3 positioning, as we obviously saw. In the end though, I'd probably still rank him up there. Top 20? Yeah, I'd say so. Earl - Only unanimous winner ever, nuff said. Top 20? Definately. Cirie - Best player to never win. Top 20? Yes! Tom - One of the best leaders ever. Played one of the most dominant games ever and even got his biggest competition to quit. Top 20? Yes. Amanda - Her horrific jury performance twice and the fact that she willingly would have gone to the end with Ozzy and lose knocks her out of the top 20 with me. Chris - Aside from unnecessary behavior towards Julie and Eliza, played a very good game and is definately within the top 20 in my eyes. Yul - If we were ranking people in terms of how smart they were? Definately up there. I ultimately find Yul very hard to rate against different players though. He had a free pass that only one other player in that season had a chance to find. He had an advantage only one other player in game history had, and his advantage was even bigger since the F3 resulted in them screwing up with the expiration of it. Top 20? Can't rate him. Brian, Tina, Rich - Agree to all 3 being in top 20. :P

Go to Lex and say "Listen you son of a bitch, I'm going to debate you until you vote for me". She remains the only person in the history of the game to flip the game by using the heads of the alliance, not those at the bottom of the totem pole. Many people who win immunity sit back and do nothing, and get voted out next. She could have done that. Instead she masterfully manipulated Rafe. Not that Rafe didn't screw up big time, but if she sat back and did nothing, had it all been due to Rafe's screw ups, then she finishes fifth.

Would he really lose infront of a jury if he had broken his word? I doubt it. If Rafe was as emotionally unstable enough for a trick like guilt to work, then he probably didn't have any internal mechanism in case a saboteur like Danni was to appear.Therefore,Dannis win was easier then you think.She wins f6 immunity, Cindy goes next due to threat statis, then Lydia goes from an idiotic reason. Then Danni wins immunity.Great game, but not brilliant

I mean for me, someone like Colleen was such a crafty player and was part of the reason she became my favorite back in the day. She was plopped down in the middle of a newly developed game that no one could watch and study before hand -and in her interview before playing talks about how she's going to keep her head down and not make a peep while everyone destroys one another, and be the yes man -"then when there's too people left, I'm one of them." her intstincts has paved the way for the most successful way of play. Then of course when she caught on to how Tagi was playing -sure, she was behind the eight ball -but she went and worked on Sean and Kelly to flip (and sure enough who were the next two Tagis on the hit list? -Kelly and Sean) -She had Sue yelling at Kelly that she trust her (Colleen) more than she trusts Kelly -she had none of the tagis wanting to vote her out- Sue wanted Sean out but Rich strongarmed her on the way to council (the right move for Rich) -I just thought she only got better and better at the game without a learning curve. Greg was also just brilliant in playing people before a template was made. Brandon's move of getting Ethan and Lex to vote out Kelly alone validates Ethan as a bad player -Brandon's idiocy aside with overplaying, Ethan made his whole game vulnverable when all the chess pieces were shown. Cirie never made a wrong move with the knowledge she had -and the winners of both seasons she played if they had their way, would have played into her agenda. Aras would have final four go Terry, Daniele, and sitting in the final two with Cirie; Parvarti was planning on a final three and sitting there with Amanda and Cirie -who they knew had a very good way with her words. Those are some of the things that cross my mind when I think of how good a player is. I always know anything can happen -but does a player always try to maximize their odds and chances based on the dynamics at hand and the knowledge they have of the people still in the game.

She was physically strong, but not enough so to get herself booted. She started out trying to take out the weak links, but when that didn't work, she stuck with the obnoxious people who would be targetted before her. She never tied herself to one alliance (for the most part0 and was very willing to be fluid in terms of who she voted out, even taking out Rob when it was necessary. Jon - Not Micronesia Jon, but seriously, when you can act like a little bastard and completely lie to people and manipulate them and STILL make the final 3, that's some special talent. Parvati - Probably one of the most dominant and deserving female winners, even if she was the luckiest winner of all time. She controlled the game right beside Cirie and did a great job taking control in Cook Islands, even if things didn't work out so well. Tracy - She was put in a tribe and outcast right off the bat because of her age, regardless of her expertise. No one gave her any credit and just lumped her in with the weak, old people. Yet she managed to keep her two closest allies, the two people who were more likely to be voted off than her, around, and in effect bought herself a long time in the game. Had it not been for Chet's injury, I think she could've turned the game around and taken control. Kathy V. - She saw that she was on the bottom of the totem pole in her tribe, so she worked with the other outsiders and pulled a coupe on the strongest players in the game. She then played the swing vote to eliminating the strongest player left in the game and teamed up with the betrayed ally to save herself while suggesting they take out the biggest jury threat in the process. Clay - Despite being the ultimate goat, he still came within a single vote of winning the game due to building relationships with the people Brian ignored. Had it not been for Helen accusing Clay of racism, or maybe the mistake of insulting Jake, Clay could've been the winner of Thailand. Julie - She went from being in the minority alliance for the first two votes to being in the minority on a tribe dominated by men, to taking out a man, to pulling Twila back to the women after the men offered her a sweet deal, to worming her way into the female foursome, to STILL not being considered a threat until Eliza was immune. Scout - When you can get through the game with as much control as she had, with a bad knee like she had, and yet she was never targetted out of respect, then you've got yourself a good player. Rafe - He played a great game aside from one screw-up at the end, which was just him overthinking things. Had Danni not won immunity, Rafe would've won his season the way Rob C. had dreamed of doing. Peih-Gee - Despite being put on a crappy tribe to start (one where she was up against the three biggest men in the game while most of the challenges were about brute strength and weight), she knew what she was doing, and she realized that her tribe needed to throw the challenge in order to take out a player would would not benefit them. She managed to make the final 5 by a little luck and timing, along with some key immunity wins. She was also smart, post-merge, in that she did everything she could to turn things around, and she was just stuck playing with idiots like Denise who never made a single move in the game.

The winner is the person who most clearly conforms to these expectations.Cirie made up for her unphysicality by honing a very keen stratagy,keener then most. However,she couldn't conform to Aras winning immunity as well as his probable chance of gaining jury votes over her.She couldn't conform to a final 2 scenario in Micronesia.Thats all i was saying

I would probably not include Amanda as high as she was. She would possibly barely be in the top 20. Same thing goes for Chris, although he would be higher than Amanda. I'd definitely bump Earl, Tom, and Cirie MUCH higher on the list than Amanda and Chris. Perhaps it's that I am older now, but character is a great deal of my respect so I am not sure if Brian and Rich would still be as high as they are on this list. If you were to look at the entire package, Tom, Yul and Earl would be VERY high. And for her out-of-the box moves (all of which were successful) Cirie is one of the best players in terms of getting herself out of harm's way and making moves NOBODY else would have thought or had the courage to make. (booting Courtney, Ozzy, and devising the plan to get out Erik). I would also put Todd up quite a bit higher. Rafe's another possible top 20 player. He plundered by being too soft to Danni at the end but played nearly flawless until the final 3. I'd exclude Vee and Jenna because I really have no idea how they won to be quite honest. People like Lex, Ozzy, and Colby really hurt their rank in their second appearance-particularly Lex. Oh, one more note about Cirie. Had they all known there would be a final 2 earlier, you bet your ass that Cirie would have at least worked it big time to get there if she could. It actually could have caused her to leave earlier, but perhaps not. She would have worked it out with Natalie and risked another fire challenge, but she had NO chance outside of immunity when they found out there was a final 2. I don't know how much sense it makes to compare players from current seasons with those from earlier seasons. Hatch never had to deal with defeating the HII. I'm not sure that Hatch could even survive a tribal swap. The only glaring omission from this list is Jonny Fairplay. Rich, Tina, Vecepia, Brian, Rob C, Fairplay, Tom W., Cirie, Yul, Earl, Yau-man, Todd are Grade A players. My next level would include Colby, Teresa, Kathy, Chris, Ami, Danni, Rafe and Parvati to round out the top 20. Close calls: Tammy, Sandra, Scout, Jonathan, Peih-Gee People forget about Scout but the fact that no one considered voting for her on Yasur before the merger in spite of her physical liability speaks volumes. Stephenie, Mariano, Amanda and Ozzy (short of winning all the challenges) have serious character flaws that prevent them from winning and being included in my top 20. I thought that Ethan and Aras fell into to their wins. Jenna needed Immunity to win and she made an unforgiveable blunder by telling Dave the Jabaru tribal dynamics.

He has excellent skills in Survival and Challenges. He was able to learn the game when he did not how to play. He played a part of Cesterino's downfall when he made a Final 2 pact with Jenna due to him teaching him the game. Strenth:physical skills, Survival skills Weakness:Did not take ownership of his strategy, depened on Rob C too much

(She perfected Richard's game and got the dominant player to pick her over an easy win) Rob M. (He dominated All-Stars and would've won the game had he not being competing against returning players who wound up being extremely bitter) Kathy V. (She was well-liked and willing to make moves when she was in danger) Vecepia (She flip-flopped when it served her and knew when she needed to cut certain allies loose) Clay (Getting 3 votes against Brian shows just how good a player Clay was) Brian H. (I may not like him, and I may think he won a season of idiots, but he played a pretty good game) Rob C. (He invented the way the game is played nowadays with flip-flopping and alliance swapping, all while being a physical liability) Jon (He played Rob's game while being a complete ass and STILL had people eating out of his hand the entire game) Ami (She controlled the Yasur tribe and the game, and she would've won had Leann just kept her mouth shut) Julie (Great under-the-radar player with a great social strategy) Scout (No one ever considered targetting her pre-merge despite her physical liabilities, and she was the only one who saw through Chris' bullshit at the final tribal council) Twila (She knew when moves needed to be made and when people needed to be lied to, and she made them) Chris (Granted, he was helped at the final seven, but he played the women perfectly, playing on their emotions and their own in-fighting) Tom (He strong-armed everyone in the game and just dominated) Rafe (He screwed up at the end due to overthinking, but he played the perfect game until that point) Danni (She had horrible luck and she overcame the odds by turning the leaders of an alliance against their own) Cirie (She's easily the best player of all time, because a physical liability like her has gotten to the final episode twice) Parvati (She controlled Raro by flirting with the boys and she gained control of Micronesia via flirting and her own intelligence) Yul (Even though he was helped by a multitude of twists, he was still smart enough to play the jury, keep his allies close, and work over Jonathan) Earl (First unanimous winner ever is a pretty nice title to have) Peih-Gee (Stuck in a bad situation and she still outlasted her tribemates) Todd (He played the game of Rob, Jon, and Rafe, and actually won) Tracy (Only pre-merge player on this list, mainly because she was a smart strategist and she just had the misfortune of being in the wrong season for someone like herself) Natalie (She played under-the-radar for a long time, which kept her safe, and when it mattered, she was able to use her charms to eliminate two of the strongest guys in the competition)

Richard Basically, I took out Stephenie and Ozzy and put in Kathy and Vecepia, and I moved Amanda down a bit and Cirie up. I almost put in Jonny Fairplay, Amber, and Parvati but cut them out at the last minute. Let me know what you think.
