Big Brown kicks ass and wins by a bunch of lengths . Nobody randomly falls down and breaks themselves to death.
That was a fun minute. |

What a crock of poo these shows are! Two friggin' hours long, mostly interviewing the multi-millionaire owners and talking crap, all for a 90-second race.
They should be an hour long. First half-hour do a couple interviews and concentrate on the horses. Show us the race at the half-hour mark, then do some analysis, interview the jockey, the owner, the trainer, and give us a replay. The End. Yea I watched it, but just the race. I guess this Big Brown is the real thing. |

11 horses since 1978 have won the first two legs of the Triple Crown. 0 out of 11 won the Belmont.
Maybe this will be the year. |

Yeah, the preshow is way too long for these things. Although the roundtable about the problems with racing was interesting.
Sadly Casino Drive is probably gonna get Big Brown in the Belmont. |

Any shitty horse can win the first two legs. Winning the Belmont is what weeds out the garbage. 1 1/2 miles is HARD, especially for these overbred American
horses. If I'm betting on the race I will usually see if there are any European bred horses and put money on them.

I went to Derby Day three times in the 1970s with the Drunken Economists I once knew. I hadn't been to the races before, so I got kick out of wandering
around while they worked their way through the plethora of juleps and giant mint plants. One of the cool things was that the crowd could stand right by the
paddock area not 10 feet from the horses and watch the saddline up. No one else was there for the earlier races in the day. I realized I was getting nowhere
near the fence for the derby so, I went to the paddock area for the saddling up--and here's the point of this sorry drunken saga--the Derby horses were
HUGE. They towered over the horses in the earlier races.

If the field is as terrible as the group of loser horses in this race, Big Brown will cruise to a Triple Crown.

Not any shitty horse can win both. That being said, many people believe Casino Drive, owned by Japanese businessmen, will be the main competition for Big Brown at Belmont. But I hope Big Brown wins. |

If he does win the Belmont they should retire that horse before it even gets back to the winners circle. I would wrap him in bubble wrap before I'd ever
let him get near a track again.

The correct pronounciation is PRAKEness not PREEKness.
Hard to believe the Triple Crown gap now is longer than the gap was before Secretariat won the Triple Crown. The very best Triple Crown horse ever. |
