Alyson is from a town about an hour away from me, and attends the same college I did. There was a big write up on her in the local paper on Sunday where locals commented on how talented she is. I watched hoping to root for her, but she was pretty disappointing to me with her pagant overacting and trying way too hard. I do not think she is long for this show.

I am not digging the changes made to make the show more mainstream. I liked the second tier feeling that USA gave to the show. It made it stand out from AI, IMHO.

I hope that when the contestants are all broken up into three teams like the previews for next week showed, that the quality of the performances will improve under the mentorship of the judges.

I thought that I was correct in thinking that I remembered Coffey from AI. I too remember that he had a sob story, or his wife gave birth as he was about to audition or something, lol.

Count me in as another one who thinks that Taylor Swift sounds like shit live. I also have not been very impressed with the couple of singles of hers I have heard on the radio. She is a pretty girl, but you can hear better singers than her at any country fair.
