...in a digitally remastered format on the Science Channel on June 22! They're running it marathon style. I'm making my kids watch it.

I got excited because I thought this was another SATC movie thread.

Carl Sagan kicked galactic ass with that series! |

He was the first one to put billions together with another billions.
True story. |

Carl Sagan kicked galactic ass with that series!Intergalactic ass, darling. Cosmos was digitally remastered and re-broadcast a couple years ago. Don't think this is anything new. Much as I love Sagan and enjoyed Cosmos, both the book and the series, the remastered version is still out-of-date and seems almost quaint. Still, if someone has never watched it, it's worth the time. |

Another true story:
He taught Bill Shatner how to do the drop, roll and get up blasting away aliens with your fazer gun. |

Fun fact: Sagan never said "billions and billions", that's just from Carson's impression of him.
I watched Cosmos a couple of years ago and very little of it is outdated. Even with a serious interest in astronomy I learned a lot from it. It could be the best miniseries ever. |

Don't forget the brilliant soundtrack by Vangelis.

Not the facts contained in it, dude. The presentation, the animations (even the "updated" bits), and... my God... Sagan's hair and jackets. They
could have CGI'd him some new clothes at the very least.

What a surprise. Scruffy is in a cosmetology thread like a fly on shit.

Cosmetology is the study and application of makeup treatment.
Unless that's what you meant. |

As surprising as Anti being a COSMOLOGY thread.
Who would imagine? People seeking out subjects they are interested in. That's so very wrong of us. |
