60. Combusken (Fire/Fighting) I know, the Fire and Grass starters lost one of their trio each before the Water starter. Shocker, huh? Combusken falls into the same category as so many other middle forms, and I don't feel like repeating myself as to what that category is. Combusken is just irritating to look at. It's not a cute little baby chick like Torchic and it's not cool and badass like Blaziken. And it doesn't learn any moves that Blaziken couldn't learn as well. All in all, it's just a necessary stepping stone to better things.
59. Wailmer (Water) Same old, same old. Wailmer is one of the numerous new Water-types introduced into the game with no real purpose. It's so, has piss-poor defenses, and basically all it has going for it is a high HP stat. It's not even fit to be labelled as a whale. All he is is a blue ball that the designers slapped some fins on and gave Rollout to as an attack. I'm so glad the RSE doldrums are almost done. I hate these boring write-ups.
58. Marshtomp (Water/Ground) Finally, a Water/Ground-type that doesn't completely suck. Marshstomp actually makes a pretty decent starter, given that he's strong at the first gym, and by the time you get to the third gym, he's not only immune to electric attacks, but he's also strong against the Steel and Electric typings of both Magnemite AND Voltorb. A decent enough Pokemon, Marshtomp just doesn't have the same appeal as Swampert and Mudkip do, and thus it just missing out on the portion of the list where I actually start caring about the Pokemon.
57. Lotad (Water/Grass) I'll give credit for getting rid of all the weaknesses Water has and getting rid of Grass' ice weakness. But goddamn it wasn't until I really thought about it that I realized how crappy of a typing Grass is. Weak to Ice, Bug, Poison, and Flying and only strong against Rock, Ground, and Water. And to make it worse, Lotad is so weak that you're basically forced to evolve him to Lombre, and thus miss out on the only decent Grass attacks it gets.
56. Crawdaunt (Water/Dark) And now we come to the last of the Pokemon I don't really give that much of a shit about. If Corphish is a rip-off of Krabby, then Crawdaunt is a rip-off of Kingler, with the extra disadvantage of being weak to things that Kingler wasn't, aka Bug and Fighting-types. Once again, Crawdaunt was just an attempt to incorporate more unnecessary Pokemon into an unnecessarily water-heavy map, using a lobster as their point of reference. |

yeah I like lotad because it could like serve you food or something! haha
But Ludicolo is way better, because like Lil Wayne, he can make it rain. lol And even better I remember playing some game on amecube and having to battle some REALLY wacky guy who had a dancing Ludicolo. The music was SO funny and loony. lol |

As uber as Ludicolo is, I can't stand its voice in the anime. So un-Pokemon like especially in comparison to Lotad and Lombre.

I saw the water type needs to be given the fire "treatment" next gen. A la no new ones. It's not like 95% of them get used anyway.
Lotad <3 So much potential... |

55. Azurill (Normal) First off, I'd just like to say that it has always baffled me to no end that Azurill, despite being a bouncy little blue creature that evolves into Marill and Azumarill, is considered to be a Normal-type Pokemon. I mean, couldn't they have made it a Water-type or something? Normal makes no sense whatsoever. Azurill is a LOT cuter than Marill and Azumarill are though. It actually looks adorable, rather than like it was intended to be adorable and failed miserably.
54. Spheal (Water/Ice) There's a main reason why I don't really give the Spheal line a lot of flak for being clones of Seel and Dewgong while I give flak to a bunch of other clones. That reason is that Seel and Dewgong are dull as boring as shit, while Spheal's family is a three-stage family and Spheal is just about as adorable as Azurill. So even though it's just one of the far too many Water-types in the game, it's good enough to reach a point on my list where I actually don't mind writing about it because I actually like it.
53. Camerupt (Fire/Ground) Like I mentioned before, Nintendo really doesn't seem to give a shit about Fire-types as of RSE, possibly even earlier than that in GSC. But I like Camerupt, even if it DOES have a dual weakness to Water. It's got Fire attacks, which I like, and Earthquake, which I also like. And best of all, just like Numel, it learns Explosion. How crazy is that? One minute, you're standing there, minding your own business. The next, a camel explodes right next you you and scares the ever-loving shit outta you.
52. Vibrava (Dragon/Ground) I like the Vibrava family line, kinda. Even though I believe that Dragons should be special and unique creatures, I guess a Ground/Dragon-type is pretty special and unique in and of itself (at least it was back in RSE). Vibrava has a pretty cool feel to it too, like a dragonfly but without the annoying Bug-typing to go along with it. The main problem with this typing though is the same problem with most of the other Dragons in the game, save for Kingdra. It's doubly weak to Ice, which means a lot of Pokemon pack Ice attacks just to counter it.
51. Sableye (Dark/Ghost) A big deal was made when Sableye came out because of the fact that he has zero weaknesses. And this it true. Sableye's Dark-typing is only weak to Fighting and Bug. Ghost is strong against Bug and immune to Fighting. And the Ghost-typing is only weak to Ghost and Dark, both or which Dark is strong against. Thus, the only way Sableye can be hit with a Super Effective attack is for a Pokemon to use Foresight and then hit it with a Fighting attack. And that's the only way, which makes Sableye special. Unfortunately, they created a better, if not more difficult to find Dark/Ghost-type in DP, and so Sableye misses the top fifty. |

It's always confused me slightly, that Flygon, despite clearly having wings and the word 'Fly' in it's name, is a Ground type.

Nintendo obviously hates bugs. I mean, we have no Bug type Legendary (yes it doesn't include Arceus) yet and about only five out of the about 50 bug types
are useable in a BL/OU environment (Heracross, Pinsir, Megayanma, Scizor, Forretress and I can't remember who else).
Bug/Dragon could have lead to a new era whereby bugs aren't weak to nearly everything when combined with another type but nooo. <3 Beautifly for still being in this. |

Gotta still give props to nintendo for shitting out 400+ different (for the most part) pokemon. I have serious troubles trying to create a pokemon that
isn't a clear ripoff.

Psssh. There are still a shitload of type combos they haven't used. I'm sure there's another "no weakness" pairing out there somewhere.
I'm too lazy to check.

I don't get why people love grass types so much. They SUCK! Along with rock types they have the most weaknesses and the type they are strong against, a
strong Lanturn can do the job way better.

Azurill is of the normal type? WTF?
And Sableye PWNS. One of the "best looking" pkmn out there. Tried to train one. Unfortunately, it was pretty shitty. And lol @ your Camerupt description! EXPLODIN' CAMEL FTW! |
