Fast National ratings for Wednesday, June 17, 2009
FOX racked up another ratings win Wednesday night as "So You Think You Can Dance" commanded the floor.
FOX averaged a 5.3 rating/9 share and just under 8.4 million viewers for the evening. CBS, 4.5/8, came in second, beating out ABC's 3.4/5. NBC finished fourth at 2.9/5, and The CW was as usual in the back of the pack at 0.7/1.
The adults 18-49 crown also went to FOX, which scored a 3.0 rating in the demographic advertisers love. ABC's 2.0 was good for second. CBS took third with a 1.5, followed by NBC at 1.3. The CW drew a 0.4.
"So You Think You Can Dance" led in households at 8 p.m. with a 5.0/9, but ABC's "Wipeout," 4.5/8, had a slight edge in total viewers. "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" finished third for CBS, a little ahead of "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" (2.7/5) on CBS. An "America's Next Top Model" repeat earned a 0.8/1 for The CW.
"So You Think You Can Dance" improved to 5.5/9 at 9 p.m. and gave FOX an across-the-board lead. A "Criminal Minds" rerun, 5.3/9, moved CBS into second. The premiere of "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" on ABC delivered a 3.1/5 for ABC. NBC's "Law & Order" rerun, 2.6/4, was fourth, while The CW aired a repeat of "Hitched or Ditched."
CBS took over at 10 with "CSI: NY," 5.2/9. A second "Law & Order" posted a 3.4/6 for NBC, beating "The Unusuals," 2.5/4, on ABC.
