The elimination was too drawn out. Etc. etc. But I'm more than willing to give it a shot. I actually like the more OTT members of the cast, and they gave me a couple of laughs. And I definitely felt that return to Mole-like contemplation of each person's decisions and comments, which is what makes this show so great in the first place.

Al, Patrick, Myra, Bill, Ali, Elavia <3 This cast is pretty good, but the Australian Mole 5 cast was better - this one just has too many obvious duds (mostly in the female casting. Two delusioanl wannabes in Nicole and Kristen and two invisible eye-candy bores in Ali and Victoria). As far as the music goes, it's okay - especially compared to Big Brother which ditched some great "Previously..." music after BB5, which was a factor in not bothering to watch the highlight shows any more. I miss the "duhhhhhhhhh duhhhh duhhhhhhhhhhh dunnnhhhh duhhhhhhhhhhhh duhhhhhhh duhhhh dunnnnnnnnnnnnnn" during the executions. That always made me nervous especially when they would fake us out by climaxing the music when someone was safe.

I don't care how much you love the show or how we all "should just be thankful it's back". You've gotta admit that was quite a letdown. I think the music is a menial change that doesn't bother me, but it does change the whole feel of the show. For me, the show lost its mysterious charm with over the top cast and twists like polling who everyone thinks is the mole or a whiner and gave them so much power/exemption based on that. I know the whole Elavia and "least liked player" vote turned out great but this one just exudes desperation from the producers. The editing, the cheesy execution, and the host didn't help either. I don't think it's fair to compare him to Anderson Cooper but he just sucked period. Ahmad bored me but this guy has this fake excitement in his voice that's also monotonous at the same time--this is a game/reality show not Extra or Access Bollywood!!

The intro credits sucked, and I was horrified when the execution music started rolling. I LOVED the old execution music, and I hate the bang noise that the foreign versions (and now US version...) make when the green thumbprint appears. Loved the old execution music sooo much. I'm also happy others despised that stupid touch screen - no drama at all! I loved how Anderson would enter the name in slowly and then stare straight into the person's face. Now it's some touch-BS with no intensity whatsoever. The host's incredibly deep voice, and his robotic actions nearly had me changing the channel sometimes, but I love the show too much to do that. He is worse than Ahmad in my honest opinion. With that being said, I loved the waterfall challenge, and Ali seemed like a real competitor in the hourglass portion while Paul looks like a typical white ghetto guy who tires easily. Athletic Ali sure wasn't out of breath after all the hard work. In the original questionnaire where people had to guess the mole, I wonder if the others were thinking to just put down who they thought they could trust the most. There's no way in hell that I'd circle who I actually did think was the mole - I tend to think I'm smarter than others, and I wouldn't want them to have any accesses to my brain. I found Nicole bitchiness to actually be a highlight of the show. She would be annoying as hell to live near with her "They said this, so I'm not sleeping" crap, but I had a good laugh because I got to watch it on tv. I felt let down by her exemption though - it seemed so random and thrown in. And what the hell was with Craig's statement? Marcie shouldn't have gone; it should've been Nicole? It's like starting with Survivor Fiji - you can never recreate the original versions. Mole 1 and 2 were phenomenal, and I find it funny how people slam them having never even seen them.

The Mole is not a new show, and it actually got cancelled last time it was on, so just because it's different doesn't mean it was a letdown. We haven't had the Mole in six years, so basically, all I had to compare it to was Survivor and the Amazing Race, and based on those standards, it was great. The challenges were good, I didn't really notice that much bad about the host, although I hated how he tried to inject Spanish phrases into his speaking. I didn't notice the music. I DID notice that the cast was very interesting. Unlike the original two seasons, I could probably name everyone else for maybe Alex, Kristen, and Victoria. Looking back on the Mole 1, the only players I can remember off the top of my head were Jennifer because she was a crazy lesbo and Kate because she was a tough old chick. Season 2, it's pretty much Bill for being the Mole, Dorothy for being the winner, Katie for being hilarious, and Elavia for taking the bribe. This season is definitely better in terms of personalities, and that's good, because a show can't be carried by the challenges and the suspense alone.

Posts: 842 (06/04/08 4:20 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	It was ok, better than I thought to be honest...The cast is pretty good in my opinion, and that means a lot for me to say because I was really close to being cast...I think that my most disappointing thing was the challenges to be honest. The jumping off the raft to get the bag was lame in my opinion and you could see it was unorganized, the first 2 people who went clearly had a longer JUMP than the others because they obviously adjusted the path of the wooden raft. But didn't you notice that victoria (I think?) didn't even have to stand up to grab her bag? Anyways, someone just sat on the raft and grabbed theirs. The 2nd challenge as also kind of dumb. I hope it improves but I definitely don't see it getting any better ratings because the opener was not a grand slam at all. I was hoping for some obnoxious (but still REAL) people in the cast, and they definitely have a majority of type B personalities (which can be OK for a show like this)

We got a nice long segment of show in the beginning (like all reality TV premieres), but after that, it felt like the commercials were longer than the amount of the Mole we were actually seeing.

Another celebrity mole might have been fun- at least we sknow the celebrities beforehand, so we can judge- to a degree- if they are faking it or not.

I don't think I'd be able to know if a celebrity is faking anything. Hell, I barely knew any of the celebrity mole contestants anyway, and it's not like I know their full personality before the show.
