Hopefully not to kill though. I love this song. I love how comically hard rock it is, I love the insane loudness of it all, I love the fakeout ending and fade back in, I even love Ringo when he screams about the blisters on his fingers. And it gets a bad rap for, ya know, all those murders. If this song never existed you know Manson would have some grand Savoy Truffle plot or some shit. Anyhoo, I <3 this song.

This whole song is kind of eerie and I love the vocal. Also, Can You Take Me Back? <3

Back in the USSR Here's another one that I think I enjoy more than most people. Simply for the USSR mention this may prove to be the Beatles most dated song ever, but I think that actually makes it funnier and thus better yay. This is also the first of the two songs in my top ten that feauture Paul playing better drums than Ringo because he was off PMSing <3.

Revolution 1 Like I said earlier, I prefer the more rocking single version (which for the record would check in at #3 on this list if it was on the album) but I obvo love both. I actually think this is one of the best songs Lennon ever wrote. It's so ballsy. I especially love the "when you talk about destruction don't you know that you can count me out.......in" just because it's so wtf.

Mother Nature's Son One of their "prettiest" songs (I can't really think of the right way to say it), it instantly creates a really serene mood. The only problem I have with it is it's a little light lyrically. There's just a little too much "do do do do do do, do do do do do" for me. Minor complaint though obviously as I have it this high.

When I first was gonna do this list, I pulled my copy of the album off the shelf and, in about a minute, numbered the songs from 1 to 30 as a sort of rough draft. Rocky Raccoon was number 1. In the week or so of listening and adjusting and such it shifted down to 2, back to 1, to 3 and finally ends up at 5. I absolutely adore Paul's vocal on this one, as it really is a performance of sorts. The music is spot on (harmonica and piano parts are especially <3). Two things annoy me though. The line "her name was McGill, and she called herself Lill, but everyone knew her as Nancy" is kind of retarded, but it fits the song. The other thing that irks me slightly is that for a story song, it doesn't really have much of an ending. But oh well, still love.

Long, Long, Long A completely hilarious contrast coming after Helter Skelter considering how quiet and peaceful it is. This is prolly one of their most underrated songs evah, as I can't recall ever hearing anyone talk about this song, like, ever. The accidental coda at the end of the song is another of my favorite moments on the album, so spooky <3

Not much to say really. The use of an actual blackbird singing really was an inspired choice and makes the second half of the song. TWO SONGS ENTER, ONE SONG LEAVES

I love how the different sections don't really go together, but do. And the climax is just amazing. It also helps that this song was the inspiration for Radiohead's Paranoid Android, another of my favo songs of all time <3 1. Dear Prudence Perfection. Prudence Farrow is one lucky bitch. I have listened religiously to the Beatles noon lunch blocks and Breakfast with the Beatles on Sunday mornings on WAXQ in NYC for years and I haven't heard this song played even once. Perhaps there is an ownership dispute which keeps this song from being played. I can understand why Revolution #9 isn't played on the radio but not "Long Long Long". I've even heard the radio unfriendly "You Know My Name, Now Look Up the Number" played on WAXQ several times.

So this is my least favo track on the album, and by far. It's the only one that I'd say I'm more likely to skip than not when it comes up in shuffle. Which isn't to say it's BAD, but still. I enjoy the use of the clink noise and of course I love bitter angry lyrics, but it just doesn't work for me all that well in the end yo.
