I'd like to think that Exile Island is out of the question...but God knows, with these people. They could pull anything out of their asses.

I don't think it's going to be a 'casting' twist (like dividing by race, gender, age, bringing back former contestants, etc). It'd definitely be too much after last season.

And I don't think they're going to 'go back to basics' like season 1....although Gabon would be the perfect place to do that. If that was their intention, I believe they would have only cast 16 people.

I do definitely think they're using this whole HD thing as sort of a fresh start for the show. But as far as twists go...who knows? If you really think nice and hard, there's not much they could do that doesn't closely resemble something they've already done. I mean, it's either: a) tribes swap members; b) surprise Tribal; c) hidden immunity; d) kidnapping/exiling players.

There are a few things that have been floating around on the boards that would honestly never come to much fruition but would be interesting to watch, though.
Like....something to do with players' loved ones coming to visit and then staying for the rest of the game....or doing pairs from the get-go.
